General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) could reunite with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) after his potential divorce from Ellie Spinelli (Emily Wilson). Will Georgie Spinelli’s (Lily Fisher) parents get back together as a couple?
Spinelli has been incredibly supportive in the aftermath of what he believes is Louise August’s (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) kidnapping. Maxie and Spinelli have a great relationship as friends as well as co-parents, so GH writers may want to build on that.
Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) death was a devastating blow for Maxie, who struggled to move on and ended up with a monster in disguise once she finally did.
Maxie hates that she let Peter August (Wes Ramsey) pull the wool over her eyes and will no doubt battle trust issues when it comes to men for quite some time.
That’s why it perhaps makes sense for the show to put Maxie and Spinelli back together romantically. Maxie is keeping secrets from Spinelli out of an abundance of caution, but she still trusts him and knows she could tell him the truth if she had to.
Maxie knows Spinelli would never intentionally hurt her or her children, so that may matter to her more than anything in the months ahead. It’s easy to see why Maxie would be drawn to Spinelli, so their friendship could head back into romantic territory.
As for Spinelli, there’s surely a reason why the writers brought up the problems he’s been having with Ellie.
Spinelli’s worried about the possibility of separation due to his Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Corinthos clan loyalty, which often lands him in the path of dangerous criminals.
That separation could turn into a divorce and put an end to Spinelli’s life with Ellie. The writers might as well take that step since we haven’t seen Ellie in all this time she’s been back in town.
They clearly have no interest in writing any Ellie-related story developments, so why not just end Ellie and Spinelli’s relationship?
It’d leave Spinelli single and could set him up to try again with Maxie down the road.
Spinelli might be understanding once he finds out about Maxie’s scheme with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and leave Maxie grateful. It could set the stage for Maxie and Spinelli to reconnect as more than friends.
