General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that there are some new Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) reunion clues to pass along. These exes will grow closer through a warm wedding moment, so could this signal a fresh-start family and give Maxie the security she needs?
Maxie has been a big bundle of nerves for what feels like forever – and it’s all Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) fault! Peter has made Maxie’s life a living nightmare, especially since he’s the reason she was forced to give her daughter up.
Maxie has had to endure a painful separation from Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom), who’s secretly being raised as Bailey Quartermaine.
The plan is keeping Louise safe for the time being, but it’s been emotionally draining for Maxie – and she was already stressed due to all the deception and destruction that came with Peter’s exposure!
What Maxie needs now is someone safe, dependable and caring – someone she can truly trust.
Spinelli certainly checks off all those boxes and would be a great fill-in dad for James West (Curtis and Owen Rufca) as well as Louise once Maxie gets her back.
Maxie and Spinelli already co-parent Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher), so there’s the potential for a sweet family to come together in the months ahead.
There has to be a reason why GH chose to split up Spinelli and Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson) – and it could be because Maxie needs a loyal love interest who can make her feel secure.
Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) seems interested in Maxie, but the show’s been portraying him as someone rather shady.
Even Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) doesn’t get a great vibe from Austin, so it’s wise to be wary of him.
Austin is always looking out for number one, so maybe he’s not the best choice for Maxie’s next love interest.
Maxie’s already nervous about Austin potentially putting the puzzle pieces together and figuring out that “Bailey” is Louise.
Even after that secret is exposed, Maxie will still mentally associate Austin with a difficult time in her life.
That doesn’t rule out GH going with Maxie and Austin as a couple eventually, but Spinelli would be a better palate cleanser love interest after menacing Peter.
Maxie needs a safety net to fall back on, so Spinelli would work incredibly well in this case.
It’s true that there’s a certain level of mob danger that comes with Spinelli, but it also brings some protection since Spinelli will always have Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in his corner.
Regardless, General Hospital spoilers say Maxie and Spinelli will enjoy a warm moment at Jason and Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) wedding reception.
That’ll build on some special “Spixie” moments we’ve already seen and could potentially set the stage for a reunion at some point.
