General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, December 13 Recap – Drew’s New Investigation – Unconscious Peter’s Life in Jeopardy

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, December 13, reveals that unconscious Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) life was in jeopardy while Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) made a new investigation offer. Here’s how it all played out on Monday’s shocking episode.

At GH, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) was proud of TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) as she watched him sweetly interact with a patient who was about to be released.

Stella surprised TJ once he turned around and wanted to know what was going on with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). TJ didn’t feel that was his story to tell, so Stella admitted she admired TJ’s loyalty.

Meanwhile, Drew showed up at The Savoy, where he complimented Curtis on the new club and gave him a hug.

They discussed Curtis’ split from Jordan Ashford’s (last played by Briana Nicole Henry) along with her health issues. Curtis still loved Jordan, but he found it difficult to get past all the secrecy.

Drew mentioned that things were over with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) long before he got kidnapped, but she was still the only person he thought to call once he had a chance. Curtis commented on how Sam never gave up on Drew, so he was grateful for that and thought Sam seemed happy.

Drew also got updates on Curtis’ previously presumed dead father coming back into the picture. Curtis hadn’t been successful in finding anything about the guy online, so Drew offered to help – especially since Curtis was perhaps too close to the situation.

Curtis wanted Drew to focus on Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri) and his own life, but he was willing to keep the offer in mind.

At The Metro Court, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) met with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and alluded to feeling like a loser despite doing well in her studies.

After Portia found out about the upcoming trip making Trina a fifth wheel, she pointed out she’d raised her daughter to be independent – not someone who needed a boyfriend to prove something.

Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) came along and apologized for his previous deception, so Trina commented on how her mom didn’t seem to like him.

After Trina was brought in the loop, she could relate to having a presumed dead dad coming back in the picture – though Portia pointed out the circumstances were different in this case.

Trina realized Marshall was the reason Curtis and Portia hadn’t been able to focus on any romantic developments lately. Back at The Savoy, Curtis greeted Stella before Marshall shocked them both by showing up.

After Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) got a call about Peter being rushed to GH, she filled Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in.

Once alone with Carly, Sonny admitted to putting the hit out on Peter – though he didn’t know exactly how that hit would go down.

Carly was pleased over Sonny’s actions and felt a lot of other people would be as well. Although Sonny knew this wouldn’t undo all Peter’s destruction, he at least took comfort in the fact that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) would be avenged.

At GH, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) comforted Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) over the loss of Jason since Jake Webber (Hudson West) was having such a rough time.

Liz wished Peter had died in that staircase fall; she didn’t think it was fair that Peter was still alive after killing both Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Jason.

After they learned Peter was unconscious and on oxygen in the ER, Liz pleaded with Finn to tell her that Peter was going to die.

While Finn ordered a toxicology panel, Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) spotted Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) by the NICU window. She knew this probably reminded Maxie of her own baby, but Maxie just wanted to be there for Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor).

Epiphany felt it was best to leave the parents alone since they’d want to be with their baby – whether the news was good or bad.

Unfortunately, the news was indeed bad since Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) informed Brando and Sasha that their baby had little to no brain activity.

Britt explained that Liam had no cognitive function or motor skills. Although Sasha and Brando kept suggesting solutions, Britt insisted nothing more could be done for Liam.

However, she stopped short of telling the next grim step and just let the couple sit with the terrible updates for a while.

Britt feared she might’ve given Brando and Sasha false hope, but Epiphany heard what happened and assured Britt that she did the right thing.

Meanwhile, Brando seemed to finally understand that their baby would have to come off life support and die, but he backed out of telling Sasha the hard truth.

Back with Finn and Liz, they discussed Peter’s condition with Maxie and Anna. Finn pointed out that Peter was in stable yet critical condition. He was still waiting on test results, but he felt it was very possible that Peter had ingested a toxin.

Anna realized Peter had likely been poisoned as Maxie thought back to pushing Sonny to kill Peter.

After Anna mentioned Peter’s cell being a crime scene, she pointed out they’d find out who was behind this. Maxie thought the person responsible deserved a medal of freedom!

After Maxie privately urged Liz to admit part of her wanted Peter to die, Liz snuck in Peter’s room and approached him armed with a scalpel.

General Hospital spoilers say Liz will be tempted to take deadly action, so stay tuned for some high-stakes scenes.
