General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, January 25 Recap - Sonny Takes Off - Carly Caught Switching Necklaces

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, January 25, reveal that Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) found Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) after he had stayed up all night doing odd jobs around the Tan-O Bar.

Lenny worried about “Mike” and called Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) to come home from work. Phyllis soon arrived, urging Sonny to stop and take it easy for a while.

Sonny insisted that he was fine, and privately Lenny and Phyllis agreed that Sonny must have a pre-existing psychological disorder. Phyllis wanted Sonny to come to the clinic with her, but Sonny refused.

Later, Sonny overheard Phyllis tell Lenny that he may have bipolar disorder, and he took off, with Phyllis later noticing that Sonny was gone.

At the Corinthos house, Bobbie Jones (Jacklyn Zeman) arrived as Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was reminiscing about Sonny.

After getting an update on Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) mom, Carly told Bobbie all about her need to get the half-heart pendant back from Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and why she needed to get it back.

Carly explained that she was headed to Wyndemere to discuss Avery’s custody schedule with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), and that she wanted Bobbie to come along and find Avery’s necklace.

Carly explained that she was going to replace Avery’s necklace with another half heart that didn’t fit Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) necklace.

Over at Wyndemere, Ava told Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) that Carly was coming over. Nikolas balked, but Ava insisted that she and Carly needed to discuss Avery’s custody.

Later, Carly and Bobbie arrived, and Bobbie went to freshen up and go look for the necklace. Soon, Bobbie sent Carly a text saying that she couldn’t find the necklace, and Carly tried to buy time with Ava.

Carly purposely started an argument about Nikolas, which killed a little time. Bobbie returned, and Carly took off to another room, saying that she needed a minute alone.

Bobbie and Ava talked, while Carly went to Avery’s playroom and found the half-heart pendant in Avery’s playhouse. Carly was about to switch out the necklace when someone walked in the room and startled her.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) contemplated the annulment papers.

Michael and Willow were each hesitant to sign the papers, and soon Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Theo and Erik Olson) walked into the room with his stuffed tiger.

As Michael went to get the stuffed tiger’s ear sewn up, Willow talked with Wiley, reminiscing about her good times as a family with him and Michael. Later, Michael spent a few moments alone with Wiley, talking to him about Willow.

Ultimately, Michael and Willow regrouped and signed the annulment papers, even though each had private reservations.

At the Metro Court, a reporter accosted Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) with questions about her drug overdose. Sasha said, “no comment,” and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) decided that they really needed to get ahead of the story and control the narrative.

Maxie eyeballed Jackie Templeton (Kim Delaney), who was having breakfast with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) across the room.

Meanwhile, at the bar, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) called Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to see if Valentin had any leads on finding his mother. Valentin said that he was following up on a lead right now, and he hung up on Martin, much to Martin’s chagrin.

Martin then approached Jackie, wanting Jackie to tell his mother’s abduction story. Jackie got interested when she learned that Martin’s brother was Cyrus.

Meanwhile, over at the bar, Sasha asked Chase to introduce her to Jackie so she could get her overdose story out. Chase agreed but warned Sasha that his mom asks tough questions.

At Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) house, Valentin stopped by to needle Jax about Florence Grey’s (Annie Abbott) abduction and Carly’s possible role in it.

Valentin asked Jax if he knew where Florence was, since he was such good friends with Carly. Jax insisted he knew nothing about this.

After Valentin left, Jax wanted to go talk with Carly, but Nina advised him not to, saying that Valentin was setting him up to prove that his first loyalty was to Carly.

Jax seemed to accept this, and Nina thought that Jax should just trust Carly’s judgment about this and stay out of it.

Back at the Metro Court, Valentin found Martin, and he learned that Martin approached Jackie about doing a story on Florence’s abduction. Valentin thought that was a terrible idea, and he said that he just lit a fuse under someone important to Carly.

At a table, Chase told Jackie about Sasha. Off-screen, Chase told Jackie about how Sasha nearly died because of illegal drugs from Cyrus, and about how he and Sasha faked an affair to save Wiley.

Jackie was intrigued, and she later told Sasha that she’d tell her story, but that it wouldn’t be a puff piece. Sasha seemed satisfied with this.
