General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, July 26, reveals that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was able to sneak in Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) lab for Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) body. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) were also offered a co-chiefs of staff deal, so here’s how it all went down on Monday’s episode.
In Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) office, Britt asked who’d be better to lead GH than the person who led the covert operation against Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Terry Randolph piped up that the better choice would be someone Cyrus hadn’t hand-picked himself.
Terry took a dig about Jason being there to satisfy Britt’s needs on the run, but Monica settled the conflict down since the decision had already been made.
Monica revealed that any lucky hospital would be lucky to have them, so she congratulated Britt and Terry since they were both getting the job.
Monica explained that Britt’s skills plus Terry’s fresh perspective would make them excellent co-chiefs of staff. She couldn’t imagine a better duo, but Britt stormed out – leaving Monica worried she spoke too soon.
Terry asked what it’d mean for her if Britt didn’t accept the deal, but Monica admitted she wanted the two of them as a package. If Britt wasn’t on board, then Monica would turn to another candidate.
Monica suggested this could be Terry’s first test at diplomacy on the job, but she pointed out flattery was always an option if that didn’t work. Terry felt confident she could rise to the challenge.
In Nixon Falls, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) flirted with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) at The-Tano as they caught up with each other.
Nina liked Sonny’s stubble and thought the rough-around-the-edges look really worked for him. Sonny pointed out it wouldn’t go over as well in Port Charles and admitted he came close to coming to get Nina there.
Nina gushed over Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) before stopping herself since she was rambling a bit. Sonny didn’t mind since he loved seeing Nina happy.
Sonny asked about the father and grandmother, so Nina admitted the dad had been accommodating and the other grandma had been surprisingly compassionate.
Talk turned to the ex who made it all happen, so Sonny wondered if Nina was going to work things out with her former flame.
Nina wasn’t the same woman anymore and confessed that she thought about “Mike” all the time. Even so, Nina wondered how she could possibly build a life in Nixon Falls.
“How could you not?” Sonny asked. He understood if she didn’t want to walk away from Port Charles, but Nina explained she was concerned about her old life catching up to her new one.
Sonny understood since he was wondering when the old him would show up, which was an idea that left him uncomfortable and scared. He was willing to risk losing his old life if it meant having Nina.
After Sonny collected on the slow dance Nina owed him, they shared a kiss.
Nina decided she’d better go, but she tossed Sonny the sauce jar he gave her before she left for PC. She said she let it simmer until it was hot and added that it was the best sauce she ever had.
Back in Port Charles, Jason finally pried a confession out of Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
Liz explained how Peter threw the antidote vial off the roof instead of handing it over for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). Liz added that Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) lost it and pushed Peter down the stairs.
Liz told Jason that she found Peter bleeding with no pulse, but Finn needed to be around to save Chase. They did the only thing they could and got rid of the body, so Jason wondered where it was.
After Liz said it was in the freezer in Helena’s sub-basement lab, Jason promised to take care of this.
In Finn’s office, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) told him about the description she got from Peter’s pilot. She filled Finn in on the theories she discussed with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and suspected an altercation might’ve happened.
Anna speculated that the enemy who confronted Peter might be protecting his future and the future of everyone who relied on him.
Liz interrupted briefly, but Finn got rid of her and offered reassurance. Still, Liz was rattled since she could tell Anna knew something.
Back with Jason, he called Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and got him to hack the security cameras so that they’d be down for about an hour.
The head of security soon told Monica about the alarms being triggered to show the cams were being messed with.
As Jason was boarding the elevator, Britt ran into him and made sure he hadn’t spoken to Monica about her. Britt also ranted about Jason needing to reimburse her for a toothbrush since she bought extra thinking he might stay over.
Terry overheard and eventually cornered Britt to ask how often she changed her toothbrush, so Britt wasn’t pleased about the eavesdropping. Nevertheless, Terry suggested Britt shouldn’t let her ex get in the way of her career.
Over with Anna again, she warned that the cops would also follow the trail. Anna thought this was Finn’s one chance to get out from under this and have her stand by his side.
Anna pushed Finn to tell her the truth, but Finn thought it’d be better if he showed Anna.
Meanwhile, Jason entered the sub-basement and approached the freezer with a flashlight. After Jason was gone, Finn took Anna down there and admitted that Peter didn’t escape.
Finn let Anna know that Peter’s body was stashed in the freezer while Liz made a phone call asking someone for help.
By the Metro Court pool, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) lounged with Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) until their target arrived.
It was Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), who got updates on how Shawn refused to give evidence against Sonny.
Jax ranted about Sonny enjoying his life while Shawn was locked up, but Sam and Shawn wanted help getting the right guy behind bars.
They felt like if they found Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), she could reveal who the real shooter was.
Jax had no answers since Hayden cut off all communication. He admitted he tried everything to bring Hayden back, but he found nothing.
Jax felt like maybe Hayden staying away somehow protected Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). He suggested talking to Liz since she’d be the person Hayden trusted if she was in touch with someone.
Jax also mentioned that they were roped into Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) scheme to reclaim his family fortune. He suggested that Sam and Shawn might want to start with Nikolas.
At Spring Ridge, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) taunted Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) to see how locked in he truly was.
Nikolas startled her when he arrived for a visit, so she scolded him since this place wasn’t conducive to surprises.
After Nikolas turned Ryan’s wheelchair around and told the “son of a bitch” to enjoy the view, he was upset over Alexis being so close to the serial killer.
Alexis also found out Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) was home and that Ava Jerome (Maura West) wouldn’t budge on the divorce.
Talk turned to the stalker, but Alexis pointed out that it couldn’t be Ryan.
Nikolas speculated that maybe it was a fan trying to impress him, so Alexis felt she was in the position to suss things out.
Nikolas warned Alexis not to go looking for more trouble, but she felt she could handle a deactivated serial killer. Nearby, Ryan listened and gave a slight smirk.
