General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, November 8, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) struck a deal on Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) parole hearing – and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) couldn’t help but miss the old version of her hubby in some ways. Here’s how all the GH drama played out.
At the Metro Court, Carly opened up to Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) while Sonny met with Ms. Wu (Lydia Look). Diana thought maybe Carly missed being in charge, but Carly liked seeing Sonny back in mob mode.
It was like getting a visit from the old Sonny since Carly didn’t quite know the post-Nixon Falls version.
When Diane found out Sonny didn’t want Carly to go after Nina, she thought Carly should let loose at a dive bar with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and confide all her vengeful desires.
Carly admitted her friendship with Jason was on hold since Sonny was struggling over their marriage.
Meanwhile, Sonny thanked Ms. Wu for saving Carly and Jason’s lives. He offered up half of the Novak territory he just acquired, so Ms. Wu accepted the generous offer and considered the debt paid.
However, Ms. Wu did have a favor to ask since her nephew’s parole hearing was coming up. She revealed Brad Cooper was her brother’s son and had been adopted by the Coopers – though he was still family.
Sonny refused to score Brad an early release, but he vowed not to intervene on the ruling. He insisted no strings would be pulled either way and that Brad wouldn’t be harmed if he became a free man.
Sonny just wanted to be sure Brad knew to stay away from Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Caleb and Kyler Ends).
Ms. Wu wondered if Sonny was speaking for himself or the entire Corinthos family, so he made it clear that he was back in charge.
Across town, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) dreaded telling Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) his latest news before approaching her at the counter of Kelly’s.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) was also there discussing the cabin getaway with Esme, which led to Spencer realizing Cam hadn’t slept with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
Cameron didn’t like feeling judged and didn’t think this was any of Spencer’s business.
There was also talk about Cameron’s trip to Niagara Falls with Josslyn, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Oscar Nero-Quartermaine (Garren Stitt).
Esme recalled that Oscar was Josslyn’s first boyfriend who died of brain cancer and said that was so sad.
Esme was quite intrigued to know that trip was the start of Cameron and Trina getting close. She wondered just how close they got – and Spencer seemed curious to know, too.
Cameron downplayed everything before Spencer came clean about walking away from Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and the Cassadine fortune.
Cameron thought that was the stupidest thing Spencer had ever done and felt he should go grovel to Nikolas right now. Cam didn’t think Spencer had any idea what it took to survive in the real world.
Esme surprised Spencer by acting like she totally supported his decision and approved of him being his own man.
Esme worried Spencer felt like he couldn’t come to her and that’s why he’d gone to Trina instead. Spencer insisted it wasn’t like that and promised Esme was the most important person in his life.
Cameron backed Spencer up on Trina being an easy person to talk to, so Esme decided she’d better get to know her better ASAP.
Over at Spring Ridge, Diane and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) showed up with some congratulatory words for Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) ahead of her release.
Alexis also offered updates to Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel), who offered to meet with Alexis if she ever needed a friend on the outside.
Nikolas arrived and confirmed he was behind the pardon, so Alexis bickered with him about his motives and admitted she gave Spencer advice about staying away from his father.
Sam eventually cornered Nikolas alone to admit she was grateful to him for arranging Alexis’ release.
Soon after, it was time for Alexis to go. Sam was eager to take Alexis back out into the world so she could resume her old life.
On Cassadine Island, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) approached Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) in a room and insisted they were family. Peter wanted to reach an understanding since there was only one way off the island for Britt – and that was by Peter’s side.
Peter argued there was nothing left for Britt in Port Charles. He wanted Britt to get the full picture and make an informed decision, so he led her down to the basement to show her something.
In that basement, Jason yelled to awaken a chained-up Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). After Jason explained everything that had gone down while Drew was activated, Drew argued that Jason should’ve just killed him.
Drew worried about getting activated again, but Jason felt like they could gain the upper hand on Peter in these new circumstances. Jason pointed out that Peter couldn’t control Drew if he was dead. When Peter showed up with Britt at gunpoint, Drew threatened to kill him.
Peter smugly suggested that wasn’t going to happen, but he warned that Drew would indeed kill someone. A nervous Drew then looked in Jason’s direction.
General Hospital spoilers say Drew, Jason, Britt and Peter have some explosive scenes ahead.
