General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) might want Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) committed to Shadybrook. Perhaps Monica will insist on getting Maxie some baby obsession help and make Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) mess even worse.
GH fans know Monica’s already concerned about Maxie using “Bailey Quartermaine” (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) to cope with her pain. Monica has no idea that “Bailey” is actually Louise August, so it’s easy to see why she thinks Maxie is losing it.
If Maxie’s daughter were really missing, her behavior would indeed be troubling.
Someone with a medical background like Monica would be remiss not to notice and try to intervene here. Monica is only trying to help, but it may reach a point where she has to be told the whole story.
Brook Lynn rejected Monica’s suggestion about getting Maxie some professional assistance or at least talking to Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner).
Brook Lynn pushed Monica to let her speak with Maxie instead, so she was able to placate Monica for the time being.
However, Monica may want to revisit the discussion as Maxie’s obsession seemingly intensifies. Maxie may not be able to stay away from “Bailey,” so it could result in quite the intervention from Monica.
Monica may ultimately think Maxie needs more than just some therapy sessions to get through this.
Monica could argue that Maxie needs a stint in Shadybrook to get herself back on track. She might believe Maxie has gone bonkers if she realizes Maxie genuinely believes this baby is her own.
Monica won’t know this really is Maxie’s little girl, so she may insist that Maxie needs to be committed under the circumstances.
Of course, this is the kind of thing that could leave Maxie and Brook Lynn backed into a corner. They need to tell Monica the truth anyway since she knows how to keep a secret, particularly one that affects the safety of a child.
If Monica pushes too hard, it could result in Brook Lynn and Maxie spilling their plot to protect Louise from Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
