General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will face some tough bombshells that rock her to the core. Nina has made peace with the fact that she may never find her biological daughter.
Although Nina still plays a motherly role in Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) life, she desperately wanted to find her own child and fill that specific void.
There’s just something missing in Nina’s heart – as evidenced by her pendant that’s missing its other half. Even so, Nina’s accepted that she may never get a chance to meet her bio daughter. What Nina doesn’t know is that she’s already met her!
Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) was Nina’s grown child – and Nina threw her under the bus for the sake of the Corinthos clan at the custody hearing.
Nina was partially to blame for Nelle’s custody loss, which led to Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) abduction and put Nelle dangling off the cliff that night.
Sooner or later, Nina will become privy to her daughter’s identity and that’ll bring the horrifying realization that her child’s dead.
Nina will also find out Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) covered up the cliff tumble with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) – and General Hospital spoilers say that’s going to look incredibly suspicious.
You can bet Nina will blame Carly for murdering Nelle, even though that’s not how it really went down. Livid Nina’s going to want revenge, but how will she get it? Perhaps we should focus on Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) new link to Phyllis Caulfield (Juliette Jeffries). It’s easy to see how Phyllis could connect these two stories.
Phyllis told Sonny about the woman she cared for who was in a coma for 20 years and pointed out that woman is now thriving in Port Charles. GH fans know Phyllis was talking about Nina, who’ll probably want to get in touch with Phyllis after the truth about Nelle is exposed.
Since Phyllis told Nina what she remembered about her baby, it makes sense that Nina will ultimately reach out again with tragic updates. Nina may just want to let Phyllis know how her search ended.
Nina had a sweet bond with her nurse and was quite happy to see her when they reconnected. It’s hard to imagine Nina leaving Phyllis in the dark once she gets this Nelle closure.
Nina may want to give Phyllis the same closure, so that could bring another meeting and the chance for Phyllis to mention the amnesiac man she’s been helping. Sonny will remain part of Phyllis’ orbit as she tries to help along with her significant other, Lenny.
Maybe Phyllis will eventually catch up with Nina and tell her all about her new friend, “Mike.”
Could Phyllis snap a photo with “Mike” and perhaps show off his picture? That’s one option to consider. Another one might be if Phyllis simply offers details about when “Mike” showed up and what he’s like.
Phyllis might reveal enough for Nina to realize Sonny is alive and well with no memory of who he used to be.
Wouldn’t it be a great twist if because Carly kept Nelle’s death a secret, Nina chooses to keep Sonny’s survival a secret? If Nina blames Carly for her daughter’s demise as expected, she might decide Carly shouldn’t get her husband back either!
