General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could take Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) bullet meant for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Will that be how GH delivers redemption for Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) Nixon Falls love?
Nina could definitely use a way to redeem herself after the whole “Mike” fiasco, so we have to consider how the writers intend to pull it off.
One option would be through a dramatic Maxie rescue since Peter is determined to go after his former flame and their daughter.
Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) is obviously Peter’s priority, but he wants Maxie too if he can have her.
Of course, Peter doesn’t realize Maxie’s been lying to him all this time about their little girl’s whereabouts.
We can only imagine how angry Peter will be when he discovers Maxie has duped him with this “Bailey Quartermaine” scheme.
Could that cause Peter to turn against Maxie?
Peter tends to pull his gun on people he no longer has any use for – and Maxie could find herself in that category before long.
Even if Peter gives Maxie one last chance to be a family, she could never give him any kind of happily ever after together with Louise.
Peter should remain on the loose following the latest shootout in Greece, which will open the door for him to hunt down Maxie and Louise in Port Charles. Another major showdown could be brewing that ends with Peter holding Maxie at gunpoint.
That’d be the perfect redemption opportunity for Nina, who would certainly jump in if she found out Maxie’s life was at stake.
Nina might end up in a situation where she’s able to dive in front of Maxie and take the bullet for her.
Nina would gladly sacrifice herself if need be – and that could lead to some dramatic hospital scenes in the aftermath. It’s easy to imagine an emotional Sonny facing a flood of feelings he tried to bury.
Not only would a story twist like this help to redeem Nina, but it could also remind Sonny of why he fell so hard for her in the first place.
Nina’s good heart could shine through and leave Sonny longing for her despite his marriage to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
