General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has no hope if he can’t pull some miraculous rabbit out of his hat. Peter has caused so much pain and destruction that it seems impossible for GH writers to allow him to stick around.
However, soaps are sometimes where the impossible becomes possible! Could there be a way for Peter to extend his stay in Port Charles?
Peter has done some heinous things, including killing Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) recently. With a mountain of crimes haunting him and Peter’s new acceptance of himself as a villain, General Hospital is facing some hurdles here.
Nevertheless, Peter has proven that he’s always got a trick or two to help him skate by.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) suspects Peter murdered Franco, so he’ll take care of this if the cops can’t. It’s not like Jason was a big fan of Franco, but Jason accepted that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and her boys had a family with him.
Jake Webber (Hudson West) is Jason’s son and has lost his beloved stepdad, so that’s a factor here.
Of course, the biggest factor is that Jason himself has been accused of killing Franco, so he really needs the right culprit to go down for this. That means Jason won’t rest until Peter is stopped one way or another.
It’s easy to imagine a moment where Jason holds a gun on Peter, who pleads for his life and perhaps offers up some surprising information to save himself.
Could Drew Cain (Billy Miller) still be alive? Sabotaging Drew’s plane was a terrible move, but it’s possible Peter later found out that Drew survived. Maybe Drew was taken to some facility where he’s been locked away this whole time.
Peter has gotten bolder about his dark moves lately, but there was a time when he really hated to make them. Peter only did it when he absolutely had to, so he might’ve decided a hostage who was presumed dead was as good as a dead man.
No one has been looking for Drew, so it would’ve worked out for Peter the same way.
Could Jason spare Peter’s life to save his twin brother? Jason knows Drew mattered to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) a great deal.
Drew was also Scout Cain’s (Ella Ramacieri) biological father, so these are some good reasons for Jason to let Peter live if he ultimately claims Drew is still alive.
Peter could use this as a get-out-of-jail-free card as well. Maybe Peter could strike a deal that keeps him out of prison in exchange for Drew’s location and freedom.
Regardless, Peter could use a way to stick around if that’s what GH writers have in mind for this character. Revealing that Drew’s alive could be an intriguing twist – and it could be a real game-changer for Peter.
