General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Port Charles’ tree-lighting ceremony will bring shocking reunions, holiday gifts, family feuds and more. This special event will play out on December 21, so fans will want to tune in for a fun episode that’ll set up even more drama.
Of course, a big tree-lighting ceremony is a very public spectacle and exactly the kind of thing the mayor should be present for. It would raise a lot of questions and cause concern if Laura Collins (Genie Francis) didn’t show up for this.
Fortunately, Laura should be back just in time to make a proper appearance as mayor and catch up with her family, too.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will enjoy seeing Laura again, but he’ll also catch a glimpse of Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) chatting behind his back.
Nikolas feels like Trina is a good influence on Spencer and perhaps the only person his son truly listens to. Since Nikolas would no doubt like to make amends before Christmas, he might seek Trina’s help pulling that off.
Unfortunately, the move could backfire if Spencer feels like a clandestine meeting is going on. Nikolas will apparently approach Trina at this tree-lighting gathering while Spencer’s nearby, so Spencer may confront one or both of them after he spies the discussion.
Other GH spoilers state that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will have a run-in with Laura, which will likely happen on the night of this tree-lighting ceremony as well.
You can bet Laura will have some harsh things to say once she finally comes face to face with Victor following his immunity deal.
There’ll be a less tense reunion when Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) bumps into Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and catches up with her after all this time.
That should bring a conversation full of condolences over Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), but it’ll also bring some gratitude since it’s a miracle Drew’s alive.
The tree-lighting ceremony won’t be the only source of holiday cheer on December 21 since that’s also when Santa Claus will head to GH. Perhaps Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) will take on playing Santa since he’ll also be back in town.
Regardless, Santa’s arrival will bring some presents and another stunning reunion while Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) enjoys holiday tea with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) will make sure Violet and Anna have some quality time together as the Christmas festivities get underway in Port Charles.
