General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will continue to find reasons to land in Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) orbit. As Sam and Dante’s friendship grows, so will their feelings for each other. Things are bound to start getting complicated as messy emotions come into play.
Sam’s coming off a devastating split from Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who feels a deep sense of loyalty to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Sonny may be presumed dead in Port Charles right now, but Jason knows he has to step up and keep Sonny’s loved ones safe.
Sam just can’t get behind Jason’s willingness to put his own life on the line, which puts Sam and the kids at risk, too. Dante isn’t exactly the safest man in PC, but he should be a lot safer once he’s deprogrammed and ultimately put on a better path.
However, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) should be on Dante’s mind as he tries to move on. There’ll be some struggles on Dante’s end since he promised to wait for Lulu to wake up. Lulu’s stuck in a coma, so there are no guarantees on when or if she’ll ever come back to Dante.
Naturally, this scenario is reminiscent of the one Lulu faced when she couldn’t be sure Dante would return from his treatment. Lulu eventually moved on with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) and had just exchanged “I love you” confessions when Dante reentered the picture.
GH writers could keep mirroring that storyline by having Dante and Sam trade love confessions of their own. When the time comes and they’ve both fallen hard, Dante might admit his love for Sam.
Sam could do the same and set the stage for Lulu’s return in some form, whether it be Emme Rylan, Julie Marie Berman or perhaps another soap star.
Lulu has to be coming back sooner or later since General Hospital chose to keep her alive instead of killing her off. Now it’s just a matter of when the right moment will be. Just after Dante and Sam fall in love would fit the bill from a drama standpoint.
