General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) seem poised to have a romantic reunion. Scout Cain’s (Ella Ramacieri) father is headed back to Port Charles and can build a happy family with Sam, so this could offer a new path forward after Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
GH fans know Sam and Jason were forced to split for the sake of the kids. Sam just couldn’t handle all the danger surrounding Scout and Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) anymore.
Although Sam would never cut Jason out of the kids’ lives, she knows they need stability away from all the mob mayhem.
That led to Sam making a clean break romantically and doing her best to move on. Of course, Sam and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) have been growing closer lately, but many viewers would like to see them stick to friendship.
It makes more sense for Sam to reunite with Drew once he returns from the dead.
Unlike Jason, Drew ultimately rejected that dangerous lifestyle and chose to focus on Aurora Media. He’s someone Sam can build a family with again and not have to worry about the mob getting in the way.
This is still GH where danger often abounds, so that doesn’t mean there won’t be risks as time goes on. Even so, Sam will have a safer alternative with Drew in the picture.
Drew’s end of the love triangle with Sam and Jason wasn’t explored as much as it could’ve been. Now that Jason is no longer a real factor in Sam’s love life, she can perhaps move full-speed ahead with Drew down the road.
Jason has formed a sweet bond with Scout, but this little girl needs her bio dad back. Scout adored Drew and will no doubt be thrilled to see him again.
Danny can also reunite with his uncle and make up for lost time, so it’ll be great to see Drew reconnect with Sam and the kids.
That doesn’t diminish Jason’s place in Sam, Danny and Scout’s life since he’ll always have one. However, Sam needs another love interest that she can build a future with – and Drew could be that person for her.
