General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Scarlett Fernandez is exiting GH as Charlotte Cassadine, so she posted a sad goodbye message for fans. On Instagram, Fernandez shared some heartfelt words about her time at the show and how thankful she is to everyone who cheered her on. Let’s look at what Fernandez had to say now that the role of Charlotte has been recast.
“I’m super grateful for the opportunity that @fvalentinigh and @markteschner gave me in 2016,” Fernandez said. “Playing Charlotte Cassadine was my favorite and I’m sad it’s come to an end. I will miss my castmates and the crew and I know the fans will support the new actor playing Charlotte. Thank you for all the support!”
Fernandez seemingly wanted to go ahead and make this announcement ahead of the December 21 episode.
The preview video shows Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) bringing someone by the Quartermaine mansion for a visit with “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt), so it looks like the new Charlotte is set to debut.
It softens the blow a little to know it’s coming, but plenty of viewers are still bummed about Fernandez being replaced.
Of course, that’s the nature of the soap biz, especially since the show has been recasting a lot of the child actors lately. It seems like there’s been a push across the board to age up the younger set a bit.
Even so, it’s disappointing to see Scarlett Fernandez go since she was such a little acting gem! Fans watched Fernandez’s talent blossom right on screen, so this is a tough farewell.
Fortunately, Fernandez no doubt has a successful career ahead of her. There’ll be tons of other opportunities headed Fernandez’s way, so we wish her the best of luck in all her endeavors.
As other GH news comes in, we’ll pass along updates. General Hospital spoilers say Charlotte will try to make peace with Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) lies about her “sister” and help Valentin cope with the loss.
