General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Selina Wu (Lydia Look) is grooming Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) for some form of a mob takeover, but does her nephew have what it takes? Brad has been known to scheme, but he also lacks confidence and tends to botch things.
If Selina truly expects Brad to be a real leader within the Wu organization, she may end up disappointed. GH fans know Brad can be rather bumbling and dimwitted at times.
Brad’s just not the smooth criminal he needs to be if he’s going to take on a major role in the Wu family business – and that’s obviously what Selina wants him to do.
Selina is suddenly stepping up for Brad and getting to know him, but Brad’s confused about why. It feels rather out of the blue since Brad’s adopted and hasn’t really seen his birth family take an interest in him until now.
However, Selina sees real potential in Brad as long as he obeys her rules. Brad could be in over his head here, especially once he realizes he’s already becoming so firmly entrenched in the mob.
There’ll inevitably come a day when Selina wants to retire, but she may not have any other young family members to carry the torch and keep the Wu family going strong. That may be part of why Selina has gone to such extremes to get Brad out of prison.
What happens if Brad ultimately rejects the mob life? Even if Selina just wants Brad to take on a lower-level position for now, there could be drama.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has been sizing Selina up and can tell something isn’t exactly right.
That could also explain why Selina feels like Britt should stay as far away from Brad as possible.
Selina doesn’t want Britt to influence Brad’s decisions, but this may be more about preserving Brad’s mob potential than the fear that Britt will actually lead him astray.
Britt isn’t afraid to stand up to Selina, so that’s fueling the conflict between them.
Brad might be forced to pick a side down the road – and the results may not be pretty if he chooses wrong!
Bottom line, Brad perhaps isn’t cut out for the life Selina’s chosen for him, but there could be a steep price if he doesn’t go along with Selina’s wishes.
