General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will have to find a way forward without Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). After months and months of no real “JaSam” romance, GH writers finally ended the couple. It was disappointing for longtime Jason and Sam fans who wanted a future for them.
However, other fans were relieved to know Sam and Jason could finally move on. Since the show failed to write for them, there was really no reason to keep Jason and Sam as a couple. There was always some obstacle to stand in Sam and Jason’s way – some explanation to avoid giving them a real love story.
Now that Jason and Sam have split up, it opens the door for other exciting love opportunities. Sam recently did some bonding with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), but some viewers just aren’t feeling them as a potential pairing.
Dante and Sam share some younger siblings, so it’s kind of icky on some level. Their family ties just make this a weird match.
Sam would be better off sticking to friendship with Dante, especially since his world’s about to be just as dangerous as Jason’s if not more so. Dante’s probably going to lose control due to his programming and that could put innocent bystanders in jeopardy.
Although Dante can get help and recover from his conditioning, he’s a perilous man right now. Sam doesn’t need to be opening her children up to risks and complications.
Fortunately, there’s been plenty of GH buzz about Drew Cain (last played by Billy Miller) potentially returning at some point this year.
It makes sense considering it could be a key part of Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) redemption arc, which is also likely to happen. General Hospital could recast the part of Drew, but some fans feel like it wouldn’t be the same. Should the show do whatever they have to do to get Billy Miller back?
With the right price and some good story promises, maybe TPTB could make it happen! If Drew walked back into Sam’s life, it seems like a done deal that she’d reunite with him. “Dream” fans would love to see this couple have a real chance. It’d be great to see Monaco and Miller’s onscreen chemistry revisited, too.
Whatever the case, there’s a place for Drew on canvas if GH wants to slide Miller back into it. As other news comes in, we’ll bring you updates. General Hospital spoilers say Sam could use a love interest that actually works – and Billy Miller’s Drew would be the best fit!
