General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will soon be involved in a heavy storyline as he’s missing and presumed (at least by some) to be dead.
As GH viewers know, Sonny plunged into an icy New Jersey river when the bridge he was standing on collapsed. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) witnessed the whole thing, and now he and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) are afraid that Sonny could be in real trouble.
Well, as CDL has reported previously, some leaked GH casting information points to a situation in which Sonny has amnesia and is lost, possibly wandering and confused about who is is and where he belongs.
It seems that Sonny will be “visited” by the spirit of Mike Corbin (Max Gail) along his journey, and we can only imagine that Sonny will have interactions with others, too.
And since this is an amnesia/disappearance story, we can’t discount the possibility that Sonny may do something that a lot of soap amnesiacs and disappeared characters do…he may find solace in another woman.
Of course, it wouldn’t technically be considered cheating since Sonny wouldn’t know who he is and that he has a wife at home, but still, it would ultimately cause problems.
In fact, one can imagine a situation in which Sonny is taken in by a well-meaning female character who takes pity on him and helps him to recover. Sonny might not even remember his name, but he might have the sense that the cops could be after him, especially if he is still in possession of his weapon.
For that reason, Sonny might ask his rescuer to keep him hidden, at least until he remembers where he belongs.
From here, an intense romance could quickly develop between Sonny and the woman. And of course, Sonny and the woman will probably consummate the relationship just before Carly and Jason burst in and find Sonny in the other woman’s arms!
That would be a very soapy way for Sonny to be reunited with Carly, and the other woman would make a sure enemy of Carly.
We’ll see what happens here, but with Sonny out there with amnesia, we’d be surprised if something doesn’t come up to throw a major wrench into Sonny and Carly’s relationship.
Of course, we can’t help but remember that Carly told Jason a while back that she wouldn’t forgive another indiscretion on Sonny’s part – but of course, if Sonny cheats while having amnesia, then Carly just might forgive!
