General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may propose to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) back in Port Charles. Sonny will eventually learn Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) married Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), so he might decide he wants a new spouse of his own.
Sonny is currently giving Nina some time and space, but no one knows how long he’ll stick to that plan. Both Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) and Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) have encouraged Sonny to chase after Nina, so he seems poised to give her a big PC surprise.
Sooner or later, Sonny will likely show up in town out of the blue and leave Nina scrambling.
However, Sonny may not be all that angry with Nina once he finds out she lied. He’s been crystal clear about liking his new life and hasn’t made any real effort to track down anything related to his old one.
Sonny might get past Nina’s secrets rather quickly since he’s so head over heels for her.
That’s especially true since Carly is set to wed Jason soon. Carly thinks she’s a widow, but GH spoilers say she’ll remarry with the Corinthos organization’s push for power and order in mind.
With Jason as Carly’s hubby, they can stand together against their adversaries.
Naturally, Sonny won’t want any part of the mob until he gets his memories back. He may argue that Carly had the right idea and push her to just stand by Jason as her new husband.
Sonny might decide he should also move on and make things official with a marriage proposal.
It’s easy to imagine Sonny popping the question and insisting he wants to spend the rest of his life with Nina. Now that Sonny’s in “Mike” mode, he’s a simple man and a romantic softie who leads with his heart.
It may not matter much to Sonny that Nina deceived him or that he doesn’t know her all that well. Sonny just won’t feel like he fits in his old life anymore, especially after he realizes the wife he left behind has remarried.
General Hospital spoilers say Carly and Jason’s nuptials will have lasting consequences, so Sonny’s reaction and potential Nina proposal could be part of all that.
There’ll be legal issues to work out since Sonny’s survival should invalidate Carly’s marriage to Jason, but Sonny may think that can all be cleared up.
Bottom line, Sonny will feel close to Nina and may take Carly’s relationship status as a sign he should move on, too.
