General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may reject Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) friendship since he can’t stand criminals in this amnesiac state. Is a rocky reunion ahead for “Mike” and the hit man?
Sooner or later, both Jason and Sonny are going to land back in Port Charles. Many GH viewers are eager to see them reunite as friends, but it may not be that simple.
Sonny has been building a very different life for himself in Nixon Falls – one where he hates crime with a burning passion. Jason has made a living as a criminal by working for Sonny, so how will “Mike” feel about that?
There’s a good chance Sonny still won’t have his memories back when he finally comes home. It seems more likely that Sonny will be discovered and brought back or will perhaps follow Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) without her knowledge.
Whatever the case, it makes more sense to play another chapter of the story where “Mike” is back in his old life without remembering any of it.
That could set the stage for Jason and Sonny to be foes instead of friends for a while. Sonny may want no part of the mob world, including Jason.
Since Sonny’s become so against a life of crime, it’s hard to imagine he’d want to resume control of his organization in this state of mind. Sonny may want to shut the whole thing down instead and focus on coffee importing.
Of course, Jason may fight against that and work to keep things from blowing up in Port Charles due to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) as well as other sinister forces.
GH fans know Jason and Sonny may have to do bad things sometimes, but they’re still treated like good guys on the show.
Nevertheless, “Mike” may not see it that way since a good guy to him is a sweet bartender, not someone who makes money through dangerous illegal activities.
This may not bode well for amnesiac Sonny’s friendship with Jason after they first reunite. It might take the return of Sonny’s memories before Jason and Sonny can truly be pals again.
Regardless, Sonny and Jason will ultimately find their way back to PC for more drama! As other news rolls in, we’ll pass along updates.
