General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) witness admission in court will devastate Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), so a public Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) love declaration will change everything. GH fans can expect a tight spot for Sonny as he takes the stand, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
Since Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) won’t be feeling very confident going into this preliminary hearing, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will decide to betray Nina for her own good.
That means prioritizing Nina’s freedom over loyalty and spilling the secret of Nina’s love story in Nixon Falls with “Mike.”
Obrecht will feel like she’s doing what she has to do since she won’t want Nina to do jail time over this. As far as Liesl’s concerned, Nina is being railroaded and doesn’t deserve to pay such a steep price for what happened.
Scott will consider it quite a gift when Obrecht confesses the puzzle pieces that have clicked about Nina and Sonny.
This will offer a great legal strategy and give Scott the upper hand in court. Scott can make Nina seem like less of a vengeful baddie and more of a broken woman who struggled to hang onto complicated love.
Of course, this will also bring the opportunity to blindside Sonny, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and even Nina when this angle takes center stage.
GH spoilers say Sonny will become a star witness when he gets on the stand and faces questions he’d rather not answer.
Sonny will swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, which means his testimony will prove very enlightening – especially to a stunned, crushed and furious Carly.
There’ll be some strong emotions for Carly to struggle with once Sonny comes clean about being in love with Nina during their time together.
Sonny will also have to admit he doesn’t believe Nina deserves the criminal charges that have been brought against her, so he’ll make a huge difference when it comes to getting Nina off the hook.
Sonny’s testimony at this pre-trial hearing should be the game-changer that ultimately keeps Nina out of prison.
Obrecht will be more than willing to go up against Carly for Nina in the aftermath of all this, but the real drama should come when Carly confronts Sonny!
