General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will experience total recall in Nixon Falls, so “Mike” will remember his old life before rushing home. GH fans know Sonny’s been adamant that he doesn’t care about his past, but that’s only because he doesn’t have his memories to rely on.
Sonny has managed to make new memories with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), so he’s been content to live in the present and concentrate on the future. However, everything will change once Sonny’s memory flood is triggered and the details of his history come rushing back.
Sonny will remember who he is and all the people he left behind, so he’ll naturally want to head home ASAP.
“Mike” has been complaining about his family not looking for him, but Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and all Sonny’s children think he’s gone forever.
Sonny’s presumed death has changed so many lives, but it’s time for him to change them all over again with his Port Charles comeback. This is a big moment that GH viewers have been looking forward to for so many reasons.
Seeing Maurice Benard play essentially a brand-new character has been fun, but “Mike” just can’t compete with the famous Sonny Corinthos in plenty of fans’ eyes.
Sonny’s about to remember that he’s a mob boss with a wife and kids who need him, so that’ll throw him for a loop and leave him eager to return to PC as soon as possible.
Of course, there’s a bit of a catch since Sonny will be missing some crucial information when he heads home.
Carly will have already tied the knot with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) by the time Sonny makes it back to Port Charles, so that’s going to bring major complications and kick off the next drama-filled chapter of the Sonny saga.
The most important thing is that Sonny will be Sonny again!
Although Sonny may carry a little piece of “Mike” with him and might have to relearn how to be Sonny Corinthos in some ways, he’ll know who he is when his homecoming happens. We’ll offer updates as other news rolls in.
