General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 12, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) visited Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in dream form while Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) defended Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher). Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) also ignored Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) warning, so here’s how it all played out.
At The Tan-O, Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) was waiting to find out if he’d get good news or bad news from the hospital.
Lenny didn’t want to be treated as fragile in the meantime – and Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) admitted she’d gained a new perspective about Lenny’s need to live in the moment.
Lenny danced with Phyllis before he got weak, but he stayed in good spirits as he left the room to rest and plan a trip with Phyllis.
Nina admired Phyllis and Lenny’s love, which some people never find in a whole lifetime.
Nina wanted to embrace the same attitude of living in the moment – no matter how long she had with “Mike” aka Sonny.
Sonny kissed Nina before the music came on for them to slow dance.
Back in Port Charles, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) found Carly and Jason in the kitchen.
Joss had a box since she’d been sorting through what to take to her new dorm and what to donate, but Carly piped up that Josslyn couldn’t get rid of Ms. Drizzle the doll.
However, Joss didn’t intend on taking a doll to college and was going to leave her for Donna Corinthos.
Talk turned to Jax finding out about the Joey Novak (Patrick Zeller) incident as well as Cameron Webber (William Lipton) punching the bag like it was Joey at the boxing gym.
Josslyn gushed about what a great match Jason and Carly were before pushing to find out when this wedding was going to happen.
When Jason and Carly found out about the party Joss planned to attend, it was decided that Tony would accompany her as a bodyguard.
Once Joss was gone, Jason mentioned to Carly that he’d need to speak with Jax. Jason didn’t think he was the lesser of two evils compared to Sonny anymore.
Carly knew Jax felt like she was choosing Jason over her children, but Jason and Carly knew they were looking out for the family with their marriage.
Although Carly worried about their union changing things between them, Jason reassured her about figuring it out together.
After Jason left, Carly clutched Josslyn’s doll and talked about how she needed to let go and move on. Carly looked up to see a vision of Sonny, who insisted that was easier said than done.
At GH, Jax griped about Jason to Britt, who defended him since he saved her life. Jason was no hero to Jax, who remained concerned about Josslyn and didn’t think a decent guy would put his daughter at risk like that.
Britt suggested Jax should tell Jason, who was suddenly standing right behind him.
Meanwhile, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) pushed to see Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) and remained rather standoffish toward Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).
While Portia was arranging that visit, Trina assured a worried Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that she was fine and that Ms. Henry did her a favor by revealing the truth about Portia’s past.
Once Trina joined Stella in her room, Stella was deeply apologetic about what Trina had overheard.
Trina didn’t think Stella had anything to be sorry about, but Stella was sorry for rushing to judgment over the cheating and turning it all into a public spectacle.
Afterward, Trina reconvened with Portia as the tension lifted somewhat. Although Trina planned to crash with Joss one more night because of the party, she was willing to talk with Portia soon.
As for Curtis, he found common ground with Stella as they praised Portia for raising someone as good as Trina.
Next, Spencer gushed about his party plans to Cameron and Josslyn.
Spencer noticed Joss’ bodyguard and commiserated about his father keeping a close eye on him as well. Spencer was eager to make the bash at Wyndemere an unforgettable night.
At the gallery, Nikolas tried to calm Ava, who was in panic mode since their stalker could find out he was there.
Nikolas insisted that their stalker was Spencer, but Ava didn’t seem as certain.
After Nikolas explained how he reached his conclusion, he intended to teach his son a lesson. Ava advised against it since Nikolas had already lost so much time with Spencer.
Ava didn’t want Nikolas to lose Spencer again, but Nikolas felt this was actually the way to get his son back.
It was important to show Spencer that his antics weren’t cute anymore now that he was a grown man. Nikolas was hopeful about repairing his family and getting his marriage back on track with his next move.
