General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 23, reveals that Scott Baldwin’s (Kin Shriner) sneaky strategy put Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) on the stand while plans for Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) wild night was revealed. Let’s talk about how Thursday’s GH action went down.
In a room at the Metro Court, Martin woke up in bed with Lucy after a drunken night of steaminess. Lucy and Martin had a flirty exchange as they decided they were OK with doing the walk of shame.
They donned their holiday outfits from the night before and headed down for breakfast knowing that people would talk.
Meanwhile, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) found Laura Collins (Genie Francis) canoodling with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) at the Metro Court.
Nikolas thought Kevin and Laura needed more time to reconnect, but Laura insisted on having the meeting they planned.
Laura urged Nikolas to support Spencer since she feared what would happen under Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) influence.
Nikolas was hesitant due to Spencer’s refusal to take responsibility for his actions, but Laura felt Nik needed to do what was best for his son.
Laura also pulled Martin away from his table with Lucy to let him know Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) didn’t send the assassin – or so he claimed. She just wanted to give Martin a heads-up and ultimately teased him with a dry-cleaner recommendation for his Santa suits.
Although Lucy guessed Laura must’ve cautioned Martin about spending time with her, Martin made it clear that he didn’t want their fun to end.
Across town, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) interrupted Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) at Cam’s place with a declaration about the worst thing ever happening.
When Esme saw Josslyn, she suggested she didn’t expect Joss to be there. Josslyn thought it was strange that Esme wouldn’t expect her to be at her boyfriend’s house.
After Esme talked about what a tough time Spencer was having over his 30-day prison sentence, Josslyn pointed out he was headed there alone when Esme was just as responsible.
Esme brought up the cabin getaway she’d previously mentioned and wanted to make it happen before Spencer reported to Spring Ridge in the new year.
Esme urged Josslyn to talk to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and felt confident Sonny would allow them to reserve the cabin for Spencer’s sendoff.
Once they were alone, Josslyn let Cameron know she’d cave on the cabin, but she wasn’t changing her mind about Esme. Next, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) stopped by Kelly’s and got an introduction to Victor.
Spencer whined about how terrified he was now that the 30-day prison sentence was official. He was expecting a better deal, but Victor thought this was a great one and basically urged Spencer to man up – though he was his usual charming self about it.
Spencer eventually shared a tender moment with Trina, who didn’t mind Spencer’s fear since it showed he was human.
Esme didn’t look happy to witness it as she interrupted, but she plastered on a smile and brought up the couples’ getaway.
Spencer reminded Esme that it wasn’t just for couples, so Esme pretended she didn’t mean it as a dig at Trina.
Josslyn and Cameron eventually called Esme on speakerphone to let her know the cabin plan would move forward.
Although Esme hinted that Trina might be too busy to come, Trina assured Esme that she’d be there.
At Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) place, she had a brochure related to PCU and confirmed to Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) that she was thinking of going back to college.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) later arrived on official police business and revealed an anonymous tip led to evidence a dead hitman was responsible for Hayden Barnes’ (Rebecca Budig) shooting.
Shawn was officially in the clear now that the weapon had been tested, but he privately talked to Alexis as they acknowledged Nikolas must’ve been behind that tip.
Nikolas called to fill Shawn in on the rest of the nonprofit money being transferred and got updates on Shawn’s cleared name. Shawn acted like he was on board with this being the end of their arrangement, but he hinted to Alexis this wasn’t over.
Outside Kelly’s, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) pressured Scott over the phone to find a way to get Willow on the stand. After Liesl hung up, she crossed paths with Victor and wasn’t pleased about it.
Victor made flirty comments before turning menacing and urging Obrecht not to stand in his way. However, Liesl had a warning of her own about what Scott was capable of.
In the courtroom, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) told Sonny she was eager to put the Nixon Falls drama behind them. She wanted Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) out of their lives – and just then, Nina appeared.
Willow also had a private moment with Nina, who was grateful that Willow was keeping her Nixon Falls romance a secret. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) wondered what their interaction was about, but Willow covered with a vague explanation.
Scott wound up overhearing some talk about how he could cross-examine any witness that was called and seemed to get an idea. He hinted to Nina that her chances in court were better than she thought, so Nina became uneasy over what Scott had planned.
Once the judge began the preliminary hearing, Sonny took the stand.
Scott asked questions about why he didn’t file charges against Nina, so Sonny insisted he just wanted to focus on his wife and not waste any more time.
Scott pointed out Michael didn’t share the same view and called attention to the campaign donation he made along with his ex-wife Willow.
After Scott acted like that donation was a bribe, the assistant DA decided to have Willow testify and clear things up.
Both Nina and Willow looked rather panicked over Willow getting called to the stand.
