General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Thursday, December 30, teases that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will have to nail down his midnight plans while Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) blames Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) for the courtroom chaos. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will also grill sulking Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), so this New Year’s Eve will be an eventful one.
For starters, Drew will enjoy another chance to reconnect with Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri), but he may worry about overstaying his welcome in Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) home.
Scout will be having a ball with her dad and will want him to stay until midnight, but will Drew actually stick around?
Drew won’t want to cramp Sam and Dante’s style if they have anything special planned. However, it’s not like things could get all that romantic if Scout intends to stay awake!
Sam might encourage Drew to keep hanging out with Scout since they’re making so much progress in their father-daughter bond.
Dante might have other New Year’s Eve plans anyway since he’ll cross paths with Sonny at Charlie’s Pub.
Sonny will be alone and miserable after that emotional confrontation with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in Pennsylvania.
Once Dante hears about Sonny’s Nixon Falls relationship with Nina and how it blew up at the hearing, he’ll quiz his dad about his true feelings.
Dante will try to offer a judgment-free zone and let Sonny share what’s in his heart.
Perhaps Dante will relate to Sonny in some ways since part of him will always love comatose Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan).
Dante may get how Sonny will always carry a little piece of Nina in his heart, too.
At the same time, Dante is focused on the here and now. He knows he has to move on and is choosing to do that with Sam.
Dante may encourage Sonny to concentrate on Carly despite what he felt and continues to feel for Nina.
Of course, that’s suddenly become tougher for Sonny to do since Carly has demanded time apart.
Carly doesn’t want Sonny home right now, so he’ll apparently have to find another place to land this New Year’s Eve.
Meanwhile, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) will land on the hot seat again.
As if things weren’t stressful enough on the stand, Willow will have to face Carly’s interrogation next. Carly will wonder if Nina asked Willow to keep the secret she had with Sonny.
Willow will have to admit that’s true, but Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) won’t think she’s responsible for this mess.
Michael will want to keep the blame on Nina and to some degree on Sonny for protecting her.
At The Savoy, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) will have questions when Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) seems nervous about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Martin may want to avoid a run-in since Valentin recently gave him an ultimatum – one that means he’ll no longer be Valentin’s attorney if he continues to see Lucy.
Since Lucy will obviously be Martin’s New Year’s Eve date, it seems like his choice is clear!
However, something tells us Valentin might soften his stance soon, especially after enjoying a good dose of romance himself.
Valentin will spend the last night of the year with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), so he may admit there’s no where he’d rather be.
We’ll hear talk about how Valentin and Anna are over something, so they may resolve to put 2021 in the rearview mirror and hope for a better 2022.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will also have a proposal for Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to mull over this New Year’s Eve.
It’s too soon to discuss marriage, but Curtis will want a chance to know Portia on a deeper level. Moving in together is the next step, so Portia may agree to take it with Curtis.
Liesl and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will want to celebrate Nina’s legal nightmare being over, but she obviously won’t be in a very celebratory mood.
It’ll eventually dawn on Nina that Liesl must’ve solved the puzzle and blabbed to Scott about her Nixon Falls romance with “Mike.”
Nina will feel like Liesl ruined everything, including any hint of a connection she still had with Sonny.
Obrecht will confirm that she was behind the secret spillage, but she’ll insist she salvaged Nina’s bond with Sonny instead.
Liesl might even suggest that Nina and Sonny could reunite if all goes well.
It’s possible Sonny and Nina will have a New Year’s Eve encounter before the night wraps up, but they’ll definitely need to hash things out at some point.
Next on Thursday’s GH episode, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will see that Carly’s dealing with some major emotional turmoil, so she won’t abandon her mom in her time of need.
It’ll be Cameron Webber (William Lipton) who faces canceled plans instead, but he should understand despite his disappointment.
Finally, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will fret over her career options now that she’s been to prison. She knows a background check at PCU would create big problems for her, so she may fear teaching is off the table.
Despite how lost Alexis feels in this moment, she’ll have to believe things can only go up from here!
