General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, January 28 Recap – Alexis Gives Dante a Seizure – Nina Takes Pendant, Demands Answers

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 28, reveal that Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) and Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) were talking about where Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) might be when a trooper walked Sonny into the bar.

The trooper said that “Mike” tried to get a job at the hardware store and refused to leave when he was told there were no positions available.

The trooper learned that Sonny was another one of Phyllis’ “strays,” and Phyllis convinced the trooper to turn Sonny over to her and Lenny. After the trooper left, Sonny said that he had left because he overheard Lenny and Phyllis saying there was something wrong with his brain. Sonny then went to wash up.

Lenny told Phyllis that Sonny could be dangerous, but Phyllis didn’t think so. Lenny said that helping people was Phyllis’ way of doing penance for giving that woman’s baby away all those years ago.

Phyllis said that she didn’t know that Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) was conning her and that she thought she was helping Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Sonny returned, and Lenny and Phyllis told him that there were conditions for him to stay at the bar with them – namely, he needed to go to the clinic and get a mental health evaluation.

Sonny balked, not wanting to get his head “shrunk.” Lenny said that these were the terms – go to the clinic for an evaluation or deal with the trooper instead.

Meanwhile, back in Port Charles, Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) was behind some building telling himself to “complete the mission” when Jordan Ashford (Tiffany Daniels) approached and urged him to come back to the PCPD.

Dante was short with Jordan and said he had somewhere to be, but that he’d keep her offer in mind.

At the hospital, Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) talked with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) about an infidelity case he was working. That led to a discussion about Jordan and forgiveness, and Curtis didn’t think that he could forgive all the lies yet.

Portia noted that relationships were a two-way street, and that maybe Curtis could find forgiveness.

On another floor of the hospital, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) continued their altercation as Sam demanded to know what kind of contingency plan Franco had made.

In nearby exam room, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) eyeballed a syringe and swigged vodka from a little bottle.

Suddenly, Franco got a pain in his head and heard Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) voice again. Franco doubled over, and Sam and Elizabeth rushed up to him to make sure he was ok. A drunk Alexis grabbed the syringe and made a beeline for Franco. Just then, Dante rushed up to protect Franco.

Alexis ended up plunging the syringe into Dante’s neck. Dante hit the ground, and Alexis looked horrified. Elizabeth tended to Dante who was having a seizure.

Just then, Curtis and Portia came off the elevator and Portia took over Dante’s care. Portia bellowed that they needed an analysis of what was in the syringe.

Over at The Invader, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) was glad to see Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) show up, since it made Peter stand down from his threats against her. Jason was there to find Franco, and he asked Peter why he was threatening Britt. Peter tried to play it off as a sibling disagreement.

Britt blurted out that Peter used her credentials to access Franco’s confidential medical records. Peter proclaimed that the last time Franco had a tumor, he hurt a lot of people.

“You probably feel he’s a threat, too,” Peter said to Jason. Jason urged Britt not to come forward with what she knew about what Peter had done, and Britt left.

“Thank you,” Peter said to Jason. Jason replied that they weren’t friends. “But we could be allies,” Peter said. “I know as much as you dislike me, you hate Franco even more.” Jason just stared.

At the Metro Court, Jackie Templeton (Kim Delaney) fired tough questions at Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) during her interview for GMA3.

Nina, who was watching the interview from her computer upstairs at Crimson, fumed to Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) that Sasha was wearing her daughter’s necklace. Nina couldn’t imagine why Sasha would choose to wear that necklace.

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) walked over to Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and tried to get the interview stopped, but Lucy refused. Meanwhile, Nina decided to come down to the Metro Court from Crimson and find out what was going on.

Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), who was on hand at the Metro Court, noticed Sasha’s necklace right about this time.

Just then, Nina walked off the elevators at the Metro Court and Valentin rushed over and told her that he saw the necklace on Sasha, too, but that Nina needed to wait until the interview was over, since she didn’t want this to play out on national television.

Eventually, the interview concluded, and Carly watched as Nina approached Sasha.

“Sasha, how could you do this?” Nina asked. “What are you talking about?” Sasha said, looking at the necklace. Just then, Jax walked into the Metro Court and watched helplessly at what was unfolding. Sasha explained that she didn’t even know that she was wearing the necklace, and that the wardrobe department had put it on her.

Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) pulled Jackie away, and Nina could finally speak freely without the press around. Nina questioned Sasha again, and Sasha said that wardrobe had picked out the necklace. “Carly might know why wardrobe chose it,” Valentin interjected.

Carly, who was standing there with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) looked horrified.

Nina turned to Carly and asked her if she knew where the necklace came from. Avery blurted out that it was hers and that she gave Sasha the necklace for good luck.

Nina crouched down gently in front of Avery and asked her where she found the necklace. “I found it outside when Mommy took me to the cabin,” Avery said.

Carly whispered to Jax that she didn’t know if this necklace was the real necklace or the duplicate that she had made. Nina took the necklace from Sasha, and she said that if it matched her necklace, then it belonged to her daughter.

Nina held the necklace in her hand while Carly and Jax stared anxiously.

Back at the hospital, Willow, Jackie, and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) talked about Willow switching careers to nursing. Chase beamed at Willow, and Jackie and Willow got along well.

Chase got a call from the station and bolted, and Jackie told Willow that she was glad Willow was giving Chase a chance.

At the nurses’ station, Jason found Britt and explained that Britt was safer if Peter thinks she’s his ally. Britt walked off, and Jason overheard Chase say that Dante just got attacked on the first floor. Later, Britt’s hands started shaking uncontrollably.

Elsewhere, Curtis and Jordan talked, and Curtis told Jordan that Alexis stuck Dante with a syringe full of something unknown. “Was she drunk?” Jordan asked.

Jordan switched subjects, telling Curtis that he needed to come home or tell her to stop waiting for him. “I deserve that much,” Jordan said, walking off.

In a room, Portia and a team of staff worked on Dante. Portia said that Dante was injected with a near lethal dose of lidocaine. Suddenly, Dante coded, and Portia started chest compressions.

Jason searched around and found Franco, who said that Alexis tried to kill him, but Dante got in the way. Jason wondered why Dante sacrificed himself for Franco.

Near the staircase, Chase found Sam and Alexis, and Alexis said that she didn’t mean to do it. Sam gave her statement, saying that Alexis stabbed Dante with the syringe as she tried to attack Franco.

Sam told Alexis that it was time for her to pay some consequences, and that perhaps in jail she could sober up. Chase and Jordan arrested Alexis and hauled her off to the PCPD.
