General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, July 8 Recap – Nik Begs Ava to Run Away Together - Martin’s Recording Traps Judge

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 8, reveals that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) carried out an incriminating recording trap while Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) begged Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) to run away together. Here’s how it all went down on Thursday’s GH episode.

In Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) office, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) showed up to ask if she was trying to fight him on the divorce.

Jordan rattled off a list of work things she’d been busy with, but Curtis didn’t think it took that long to sign some papers and put them in an envelope.

After Curtis mentioned his kiss with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and how things were complicated, he suspected someone warned her away from him.

Jordan was offended over Curtis thinking it was her. She was grateful for the interruption when an officer knocked on the door and told Curtis they were done here.

Later, Jordan seemed somber as she gazed at her old wedding photo and ultimately put it out of sight. Meanwhile, Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) couldn’t stay to chat with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) at Charlie’s Pub.

Molly headed off for a meeting with Judge Carson (Anita Finley) instead, so TJ talked to Stella about his visits with Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore).

The conversation eventually shifted to whether Curtis and Jordan might reunite, but TJ felt the ship had sailed. Stella, on the other hand, suggested that it “ain’t over ‘til it’s over” and left TJ suspicious.

Over with Ava, she checked in with Portia to make sure Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) was OK after the hostage crisis and stalker drama. Ava admitted she was rattled seeing Trina covered in fake blood.

It took her back to a moment that seemed unreal but ultimately was real: when Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) was murdered.

Ava talked to Portia about the art that was ruined in the stalker trap at the gallery. Portia was concerned for Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and hoped whoever was causing problems would go away after the divorce.

Speaking of that divorce, Nikolas met with Martin about one before learning about the unusual footprint found at the gallery. Nikolas was suddenly hopeful there wouldn’t have to be a divorce and left Martin abruptly.

In the park, “Victor” aka Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) flirted with Trina and managed to smooth things over since he bailed on her before.

“Victor” thought they should get to know each other, so they bonded over art before Trina found out he had a studio in a wealthy area.

Trina had him pegged as a trust fund kid and asked about his mom, but “Victor” admitted she died when he was young.

Trina was sorry for being insensitive, but “Victor” suggested he didn’t know what he was missing since he never really had a mother. He got uneasy when Trina reached for his phone, but he covered before she put her number in.

Trina sent herself a text so she could get “Victor’s” number as well before Portia appeared.

“Victor” introduced himself before taking off, so Portia teased her daughter about the hottie she was interested in. She was just glad someone was putting a smile on Trina’s face.

Afterward, Spencer visited Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) grave at the cemetery while Molly wound up at the Metro Court. That’s where Molly’s meeting with Judge Carson took a tense turn.

Molly called Judge Carson out for giving black defendants harsher sentences, so the judge vowed to make sure the DA’s office and the bar association heard about Molly’s slanderous accusations.

Martin waltzed over and sided with Judge Carson since he’d known her for years. He spoke to the judge alone and seemed understanding as Judge Carson talked about everything that went into her rulings.

Judge Carson suggested she had to consider the kind of future the person would have and argued that some people only responded to incarceration.

Next, Martin joined Molly and TJ in Jordan’s office.

Martin revealed that he had a very incriminating recording of Judge Carson – and it was clear that they were all in on the sneaky plan. Molly grinned over being able to take the judge down.

At Pentonville, Shawn called in a favor with a guard so he could spend a few minutes with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Alexis had been having a rough time in solitary confinement and was concerned about Shawn warning Molly about Judge Carson.

Alexis wound up having a panic attack, but she was grateful for Shawn’s comforting presence as he calmed her down.

Back with Nikolas, he found Ava and tried to talk to her about the footprint clue. Ava insisted on a divorce, but Nikolas countered that they could run away together and take Avery with them.

However, Ava didn’t want any more instability in Avery’s life and stood by her divorce plan.

Nikolas then tried suggesting that they could drag the divorce out, but that didn’t work for Ava either.

After Nikolas reluctantly surrendered, he told Ava he was only divorcing her out of love – and Ava assured Nikolas that she loved him, too.

When Curtis met up with Stella, she mentioned that perhaps he could work things out with Jordan in time. The wheels started to turn for Curtis as he realized who pushed Portia to keep her distance.
