General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 20, reveals that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) spilled a fake father story to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) while Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) trusted Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) Pentonville plan. Here’s how it all played out in Thursday’s thrilling show.
At home, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) opened the door and was surprised when Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) sent a tire spinning in her living room.
Sam played dumb about the tire slashing situation, but Dante knew she was behind the sabotage and didn’t get why she’d risk her freedom to help Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) escape.
Dante didn’t think Jason was guilty of killing Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), but he still had a job to do and intended to find Jason. He admitted to following the trail to the Canadian border and felt Sam should be careful since the next cop might not be as handsome and charming as him.
Dante wound up thanking Sam for stopping him from killing Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and knew she was the reason he was back on the force at all. Sam wrote Dante a check for the tire repairs, but Dante ripped it up and left the pieces in front of her door.
At Pentonville, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was thrilled for Maggie (Sydney Walsh), whose parole hearing was a success. Maggie was grateful to Alexis for the help and mentioned she was set to be released Friday.
Alexis talked about how she knew rehab wouldn’t work for her this time, so Maggie was glad they met if prison was where Alexis had to be.
Meanwhile, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) informed Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) that she’d made an enemy out of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Laura felt Nikolas was particularly at risk now due to his plans to privatize Pentonville and wondered if there was another reason besides protecting Alexis.
Nikolas flashed to Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) talking about how he wanted to take down the person who really shot Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), but he didn’t reveal that to Laura.
It turned out that Laura was actually quite supportive of Pentonville going private. She thought Nikolas could be a leader in prison reform and do something meaningful with the Cassadine fortune.
Laura got updates on Carly scoring a major win over Cyrus at the five families meeting. She became concerned about what Cyrus would do if he became too desperate and dangerous.
In Pentonville’s visiting area, Shawn revealed to TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) that Alexis had convinced him to fight for his release. Although Shawn had thought a great deal about who was actually behind Hayden’s shooting, he was drawing a blank.
Shawn planned to figure that out later, but he assured TJ he wouldn’t take the law into his own hands.
Shawn also hoped to be out in time for TJ’s med school graduation, so TJ promised to save Shawn a seat and called him “Dad.” Later, Shawn filled Alexis in on his visit with TJ and got some pointers about how to handle things at his parole meeting.
At the Deception office on Thursday’s GH episode, Cyrus got rid of Brando by giving him the night off. Once Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) was alone with Cyrus, she ranted about him sending Brando to find out who the father of her baby was.
Sasha argued that she would’ve slept for Cyrus to get more drugs if she hadn’t overdosed and had that heart attack. She felt Cyrus was bothered by the fact that she slept with someone else.
Sasha ultimately guessed that Cyrus thought his own driver had knocked her up, so Cyrus wondered if Brando indeed did.
However, Sasha argued that she was feeling low after losing Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), so she hooked up with “Mr. Nobody.” She lied that she didn’t get his name or number since it was a “no strings attached” sort of situation.
Sasha rubbed it in about how much younger the guy was and gushed about his attractiveness. She made it clear that she didn’t think this was any of Cyrus’ business, but he wondered if it was so hard to believe that he cared.
Sasha didn’t buy that for a second. She declared that Cyrus wasn’t her father and this wasn’t the 1950s, so she could be responsible for this baby on her own.
Sasha felt like Cyrus simply wanted to control her – and when Cyrus suggested they should have a follow-up discussion, Sasha wasn’t interested. At the Corinthos compound, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) struggled to believe that Brando was really Sasha’s “baby daddy.”
Carly insisted that was the case and felt she was the only one in the position to offer assistance.
Gladys admitted to telling Cyrus about Sasha’s pregnancy just before Brando showed up. Carly let Brando know that his mother “the human megaphone” was the one who blabbed the pregnancy news to Cyrus.
Gladys was in freak-out mode over the threat Cyrus posed, but Brando admitted that he trusted Carly like he trusted Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). He wondered what they needed to do.
Carly told Brando to get Gladys to recant her statement against Jason and implicate Cyrus. That way Cyrus would be powerless to stop the investigation and would be headed back to Pentonville in no time.
