General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, September 16 Recap – Mike Corbin Returns, Saves Sonny with Memory Push

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 16, reveals that Mike Corbin (Max Gail) returned and saved Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) with a push toward his memories. Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) was also on bed rest according to Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), so let’s talk about everything that went down on Thursday’s GH episode.

At the chapel, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) knew Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was sure about the wedding, but he wondered if he was sure about the other matter.

Jason confirmed that he was, so they established that they’d let fate take its course – seemingly referring to a plan to handle any imminent mob drama.

While Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) had a sweet moment with Jason, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) spent some time with Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) and talked about feeling nostalgic earlier.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) also brought in the bridal bouquet that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had passed along as the wedding drew near.

Brando made it clear that he wasn’t interested in working for Vincent Novak (Glenn Taranto), which frustrated Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs).

However, Brando mentioned Sasha being put on bed rest with elevated blood pressure and thought Gladys would stop trying to get him involved in organized crime if she really wanted to help.

Vincent, Charles Buscema (Burt Tangredi) and Mrs. Nina Wu (Lydia Look) all gathered to whisper about how there had been no deviation from the plan. This was going to be a wedding to remember as far as the mob allies were concerned!

Vincent ultimately cornered Jason to let him know he was sorry for Joey Novak’s (Patrick Zeller) recent behavior and had sent him out of the country.

Jason thought that almost sounded like an apology. Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) also caught up with Cameron Webber (William Lipton), who was glad to have someone to keep him company.

Meanwhile, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) tried to help Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) see the light about Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) take on Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Holt).

Maxie fished for info on the drama from Austin before gathering up the wedding party to get this show on the road.

In Nixon Falls, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) forced Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to think about what would happen if “Mike” aka Sonny died in that fire.

Phyllis wondered which man Nina would mourn: “Mike” or Sonny.

Nina remained frantic since the firefighters couldn’t get to Sonny – and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) ranted about the mess she’d created.

When questioned about the fire being set intentionally, Nina made it clear that it was done by a wanted man named Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

Jax was upset over Nina trying to handle things on her own and not even getting in touch with Maxie.

Nina worried about Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) since she wasn’t able to kill Peter, who had alluded to Liesl being handled. A tearful Nina couldn’t forgive herself if she lost someone else she loved!

Sonny was still on the floor inside the burning bar when he had a vision of himself being back where he started – when he first washed up from the river.

Mike Corbin appeared to Sonny, who remembered how Mike helped him and offered his jacket when he first woke up in Nixon Falls.

Mike hinted about sending Sonny to Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) – a brother in arms – to keep him safe. Sonny talked about how time stopped for him and mentioned letting his watch go.

Sonny also felt he owed Lenny a lot since he was one of the reasons he had settled down there, but Mike felt it was time for Sonny to go home.

At one point, Mike helped Sonny have some flashbacks of himself in angry mob mode.

The memories didn’t make Sonny keen on remembering that version of himself, but Mike helped Sonny see that there were good memories as well. He suggested Sonny was proud of that man despite his flaws.

Sonny worried Mike was saying that the love he’d found with Nina wasn’t real, but Mike suggested Sonny already had someone waiting from his old life.

Carly appeared in vision form and extended her hand to Sonny, who ultimately took it.

Sonny had warm memories of Carly as he embraced the chance to know who he used to be.

Back at the chapel, Carly walked down the aisle and joined Jason as their nuptials began. A confused Maxie saw that Jax was calling her, but she didn’t pick up.

While “Jarly” lit a candle and remembered those they had lost, Sonny regained consciousness at the still burning Tan-O and called out Carly’s name.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will soon make the journey back to PC – and that’ll bring some jaw-dropping scenes on the ABC soap!
