General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 9, reveals that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) kissed passionately after getting on the same page. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) also made a plus one offer – and Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) went missing briefly at GH.
While trapped in the basement on Thursday’s show, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) felt she’d waited far too long to tell Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) the truth about who her father really was.
After Portia started banging on the door and calling for help, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) ultimately came to Portia and Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) rescue.
Portia explained there was a gas leak and worried since Jordan had inhaled so much. She filled Curtis in on Jordan’s head wound before he moved her outside.
Portia was concerned since Jordan still hadn’t regained consciousness and only had one kidney, which could now be compromised.
Portia felt it was important to get Jordan to the hospital immediately – and later, Curtis carried Jordan in GH with Portia not far behind.
In the meantime, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) was concerned since Leo had gone missing following his pediatrician appointment.
Hospital security got involved, but Ned feared that maybe he should notify the police, but it was a false alarm since Leo turned up with Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth).
Leo just wanted to pay Austin a visit and thank him for the fidget spinner since he really liked it.
Austin offered up a similar repetitive toy and spoke with Ned privately about Leo needing a specialist who could help him communicate.
Ned admitted he’d previously tried to talk to Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) about how quiet Leo was.
Austin insisted Ned should try again and felt that all kids were different. He thought it’d be a good thing for Leo to communicate the best way for him and assured Ned this was strictly about the boy.
As for Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), she pushed Maxie to spend some time with Austin since she was looking for help managing the ELQ situation.
Maxie hesitantly agreed – though she promised to blame Brook Lynn if Austin remembered anything that’d lead to knowledge of their baby scheme.
Maxie wound up asking Austin to the wedding of the century, but he pointed out that weddings weren’t really his thing.
However, Maxie insisted Austin could go as her plus one.
At the building site where Jake’s used to be, Carly admitted to Jason that she was feeling how she used to feel about him – and that scared her. Jason gave Carly the option of calling off the wedding and suggested he could deal with the mob fallout.
Who they were to each other was more important than business, so Jason wanted to trust Carly’s instincts. If Carly didn’t think they should get married, Jason said they wouldn’t do it.
Carly confessed that she realized she could fall in love with Jason all over again. She wasn’t in love yet, but she was on her way and couldn’t go there alone.
Jason wondered what made Carly assume she’d indeed be falling alone. He made it clear that he felt the same, so they had two choices: shut this down now and deal with the awkwardness until it went away or get married and spend the rest of their lives together.
Jason assured Carly he could make that promise of a life with her, so they shared a steamy kiss.
At The Tan-O, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) pushed “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to understand. “Don’t you get it by now! You’re not ‘Mike’ and she knows it!” Jax said as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) stood there in tears.
Jax suggested Nina could explain why Sonny’s family hadn’t come looking for him.
Sonny ranted about Jax lying to Nina and choosing his ex-wife over her. “Mike” felt Jax had no right to come in there accusing Nina of anything.
Sonny didn’t know who he was before, but he knew who he was now and insisted Nina was his life.
Nina eventually asked to speak with Jax alone, so Sonny reluctantly left – though he warned Jax not to hurt Nina or else Jax would have to answer to him.
Sonny wound up on a bench contemplating interactions with Nina before he took off his watch and threw it in the distance.
Back with Nina, she explained the story of finding Sonny and almost telling Carly, who got so hateful and relentless on the phone.
Jax was appalled over this being about revenge, but Nina suggested it became something else. Nina argued that she’d gotten honesty from “Mike” that she’d never found with any other man.
Jax asked how much honesty Nina had given Sonny in return and reminded her that Sonny was married to Carly.
However, Nina wondered who was better for this world: Sonny who kills people or sweet, innocent “Mike.” Since “Mike” was happy and Nina was happy, she wondered if Jax really wanted to take that away from her again.
As much as it pained Jax to say it, he felt Port Charles was better off with Sonny in it.
Jax insisted that Sonny had to know the truth, especially since Carly and Jason’s wedding was happening tonight.
