General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, September 9 Update – Maxie’s Dangerous Setup – Jason Gives Carly Marriage Out

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Thursday, September 9, teases that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will complain about a dangerous setup – and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will give Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) an out. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) will also share some troubling news with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), so let’s talk about all the action happening in Thursday’s GH episode.

Now that Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) has picked up on Austin’s apparent attraction to Maxie, she’ll hope to make it work in her favor.

Brook Lynn will try to subtly play matchmaker, but Maxie will realize what’s going on and call her out.

Maxie will think this setup is far too risky since Austin might figure out “Bailey Quartermaine” is actually Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).

Of course, Brook Lynn won’t think Austin’s going to put the puzzle together if he hasn’t already. She’ll be far more concerned about Austin’s threat to ELQ and will want Maxie in the middle of all this to help manipulate him.

General Hospital spoilers say Maxie will eventually take action in a bold way, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be what Brook Lynn has in mind!

This will lead to a shouting match over what’s best for Louise before the week wraps up.

As for Austin, he’ll be in doctor mode as he shares some difficult updates with Ned.

When Austin gave Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) a tetanus shot and interacted with him at the hospital, he noticed some warning signs and wanted to follow up on them.

That’s why Austin was so insistent about Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) making another appointment with him instead of Leo’s regular pediatrician. However, Olivia won’t be on hand when Austin explains the situation to Ned.

Austin will talk about some developmental issues he witnessed and perhaps suggest a specialist for Leo.

Although this won’t be what Ned wants to hear, it’s important to absorb all the information and figure out the right path forward.

Ned will fret over how he’s going to break this news to Olivia, so it seems he’ll put it off for a bit and mull it over.

Next, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) will find the strength to survive – partly due to her desire to tell Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) the truth.

Portia just revealed that she hasn’t been honest with Trina about her father, which suggests Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is indeed Trina’s biological dad.

If Portia dies now, her secret will die with her. Portia has vowed not to let that happen, so she’ll have to fight her way out of that basement – and she’ll need Curtis’ help to do it.

Although Portia will be weak due to the gas leak, she’ll manage to create some noise and hopefully help Curtis figure out where she is.

Unconscious Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) is stuck down there as well, so it’s soapy for Curtis to save both his former flame and his new love interest.

While Curtis gets his hero moment, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will resort to begging. She’ll feel the walls closing in now that Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) is threatening to blow her big secret out of the water.

Jax’s threats will rev up on Thursday’s show, but Nina will softly ask for a small favor before everything explodes.

Maybe Nina will push Jax to back off and let her have some time alone with “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

It’d be better for Sonny to hear the truth in a less confrontational way, but Jax may worry Nina will try to pull something if he grants this request.

It’s also possible Nina will push Jax to really talk to “Mike” and keep an open mind. Nina might hope Jax will see things her way and accept that this fresh start has been a good thing for Sonny.

Nevertheless, Jax just isn’t going to budge on this since Sonny’s family deserves to a reunion.

As for Sonny, he’ll think all that matters is who he is now. He’ll be sick of talking about his past and the man he used to be.

All Sonny wants to do is concentrate on his new life with Nina, but that new life just isn’t going to be possible now.

Finally, Jason will sense that Carly’s perhaps hesitant to go through with the wedding. He’ll let Carly know it’s OK to back out if she wants.

Jason may argue that if Carly’s heart just isn’t in it, then they’ll figure out another way to deal with the mob threat they’re facing.

Carly will decide it’s time to come clean and admit she’s struggling because she truly wants this. It’s hard for Carly to let herself be happy with another man since she’s still grieving for Sonny.

Even so, Carly will feel like she has to confess that she loves Jason – and not just as friends anymore.

Jason’s feelings have also dipped into romantic territory, so he’ll admit what’s in his heart as well.

Carly and Jason will pass the point of no return as they make a full-blown commitment to their future together, so this wedding will move full-speed ahead!

GH spoilers say Carly and Jason’s nuptials will bring some bombshells, so don’t miss all the drama.

CDL will have other thrilling General Hospital spoilers, updates and news to check out, so pop back in soon.
