General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, November 23 Recap – No Heartbeat for Jason – Sasha Fears Baby Death or Brain Damage

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, November 23, reveals that there was no heartbeat for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) on the tunnel scans – and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) feared her baby’s death or brain damage based on the latest updates. Here’s how all the GH action played out.

In the ICU, Dr. Sofia Navarro (Christine Ferarro) warned Sasha that she needed to stay put and rest so she could face what was to come.

Sasha and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) learned their baby had been intubated, was on antibiotics and was using a special blanket as part of his advanced treatment.

Due to a condition caused by being deprived of oxygen for too long, Dr. Navarro admitted the baby could face disability, brain damage or death.

Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) piped up that those were the worst-case scenarios and wanted Sasha to stay positive, but Sasha felt her son’s issues were all her fault.

Dr. Navarro, Liz and Brando all worked to reassure Sasha that she wasn’t to blame for anything.

After Sasha pushed Brando to go visit their son, he shared a tender moment in the NICU with him and passed along his mom’s love.

Next, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) found Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) checking himself out early against medical advice.

Valentin was eager to move out of the Quartermaine mansion and knew he’d have to find a way to say goodbye to “Bailey Quartermaine” (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).

Valentin told Nina that “Bailey” wasn’t his daughter, so she managed to hide the fact that she already knew.

Nina was then hit with something unexpected since Valentin said Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) confirmed Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was the true father.

Although Nina was sympathetic to Valentin, she also encouraged him to stay open-minded about forgiveness when it came to Brook Lynn.

Valentin and Nina rehashed the pain he’d caused her when he deceived her about Sasha – and Liz ultimately decided she’d see what she could do about getting Nina a visit.

Over the phone, Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms) told Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) call. Anna assured Maxie that Peter was in custody, but she wouldn’t say it was all over yet.

Maxie confirmed that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) were all right, so she wanted Anna to pass along her gratitude and mentioned Jason.

Anna seemed uneasy, but she didn’t go into detail about Jason’s fate.

In the chapel, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) felt like Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) would be making an enemy out of both Valentin and Peter if the truth came out.

Even so, Chase was on board with doing whatever it took to protect “Bailey.”

Maxie eventually joined them and learned Chase had been brought in the loop. She was grateful to Chase for posing as the fake “baby daddy,” especially since “Bailey” would still need to be protected once Peter was back in Port Charles.

Maxie knew this Peter situation wasn’t resolved yet, so Chase and Brook Lynn remained on board with the plan. They knew they had to tell their families now and assumed it’d bring some drama this Thanksgiving.

Soon after, Maxie had an encounter with Valentin, so he offered reassurance about Anna having everything under control when it came to Peter.

Valentin also hoped Peter’s capture could lead them down the trail to Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).

After Liz checked with Sasha, she agreed to look the other way on Nina popping in the ICU to see her. Nina gave Sasha a big hug since the new mom was in tears.

Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) seemed to be feeling nervous and out of place, but Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) made her feel included.

Gladys helped by going with Carly to get some snacks – and later, Sonny encouraged Gladys to accept grandma tips from Carly.

Sonny also tackled the topic of Nina again with Carly, who was hurt over Sonny’s revelation about their friendship.

Sonny downplayed it and once again urged Carly not to make matters worse with Nina.

On Cassadine Island, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) traded Peter info before Obrecht comforted Britt.

Since Jason only came on this mission to help her, Britt cried and wondered how she was supposed to live with it if he died.

Anna eventually revealed that the excavation team came up empty in the collapsed tunnel search.

Multiple scans were done to look for a heartbeat or other signs of life in the rubble, but there was nothing to indicate Jason was alive. This news left Britt heartbroken along with the others.

General Hospital spoilers say Britt will have to head back to Port Charles without Jason and face the despair that comes with that trip.
