General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, November 9, reveals that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) woke up with a self-inflicted knife wound – and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) discovered Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) mind control method.
First on Tuesday’s episode, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) met with Kip (Artie O’Daly) the bartender, who did acting gigs on the side. Kip assured Maxie and Brook Lynn that playing an intimidating tough guy was totally in his wheelhouse.
Although Kip wanted to better understand the motivation of his character and why he would let another man raise his child, Brook Lynn just pushed him to follow her lead. Kip thought Brook Lynn was a diva, but he dashed off to don a suit for the role.
Meanwhile, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) received a plant from Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and chatted with her about Brook Lynn.
Gladys suggested BLQ would learn the hard way that you reap what you sow and hinted about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) getting screwed over.
At the Metro Court later, Gladys ordered a drink and opened a tab. She assured the bartender that her boss was a great tipper before Brook Lynn waltzed over to join her.
Soon after, “Paulie” appeared and revealed that he was the “baby daddy.” He urged “blondie” to leave his girl alone and flashed a prop gun he’d borrowed from a production he’d worked on.
“Paulie” also warned Gladys about the dangers of blackmailing Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) niece and slammed his hand on the counter for dramatic effect.
Once Kip left, Gladys deleted the recording on her phone and told Brook Lynn she lied about the copies. She didn’t want to make trouble with Sonny, so a satisfied Brook Lynn suggested she’d see Gladys bright and early at work.
At GH, Austin was impressed over Maxie donating to the milk bank and suggested there were support groups she could attend.
Maxie argued that she’d feel too guilty since her baby wasn’t lost – though she covered by suggesting Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) was alive and out there somewhere.
Austin was amazed over how hopeful Maxie was. He wanted to get to know Maxie better, but she acted like it’d be best to remember each other as they were.
Austin understood that he was a painful reminder and truly hoped Maxie would be reunited with her daughter.
Soon after, Kip showed up and explained that he’d injured his hand when he got too into his performance. Maxie handed over some money for Kip’s medical bills while a curious Austin watched the exchange nearby.
At the Metro Court, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) was surprised when Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) approached her table, where Willow was sitting with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Caleb and Kyler Ends).
Willow was surprisingly receptive to spending some time with her mom, who took a seat.
Harmony admitted she was feeling lonely since a prisoner she’d grown close to had just been released from Spring Ridge. She also talked to Wiley about whales and offered him some candy, but Wiley said he wasn’t supposed to take candy from strangers.
Willow insisted Wiley just didn’t know her yet and introduced Harmony as her mom.
Harmony also found out about Willow’s breakup with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and reunion with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).
Although Harmony was curious why Willow was being left out of some family business Michael was dealing with, Willow acted like it wasn’t a big deal.
Meanwhile, Michael and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) got updates on Sonny’s deal with Ms. Nina Wu (Lydia Look). Sonny assured Michael that he had every right to speak out against Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) at the parole hearing.
Sonny just promised Ms. Wu no strings would be pulled behind the scenes and needed to know his family was with him on this.
Michael initially acted like he should be entitled to make decisions about what he’d do with his power, but he ultimately went along with Sonny’s deal. Sonny also pointed out that he vowed not to retaliate against Brad if he scored his freedom on his own merits.
Michael made it clear that if Brad came anywhere near Wiley, then he wouldn’t hesitate to handle him. Seeing this side of Michael surprised Sonny, who spoke to Carly about their son privately.
Carly reflected on how they all changed while Sonny was away and hinted about how they couldn’t put the genie back in the bottle. Sonny soon realized Carly didn’t just mean Michael.
Michael was taken aback to find Harmony leaving Willow and Wiley’s table, but Willow acknowledged that the conversation went well.
When Willow inquired about Michael’s family meeting, he suggested discussing it later – though he admitted Wiley was going to need them more than ever.
On Cassadine Island, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) had a guard tape up Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) mouth before activating Drew with the tower card and “you’re active” phrase.
Peter showed Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) his power by telling Drew to hold a knife to Jason’s throat and await further orders.
After Britt begged for Jason’s life, Peter had Drew back away from him. He then told Drew to cut his own arm before awakening him with a different tarot card and the “stand down” phrase.
While Britt patched up Drew’s arm, the tape was removed from Jason’s mouth. Jason was frustrated in his chains, but he still warned Peter there’d be a different ending the next time they met.
Once Peter took Britt back to her room, he reflected on embracing Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) legacy.
Peter wanted Britt on his side since they were alike in his eyes. He assured Britt that there were ways of making sure his reunion with Maxie came to be and left her looking fearful as he departed.
Back in the basement, Jason explained to Drew what exactly happened while he was under Peter’s spell.
Drew was surprised by the simplicity of the activation method and learned Britt saw which card Peter used to deactivate him as well.
Jason confirmed they also knew the code phrase to bring Drew out. Although Drew made Jason promise to kill him if he had to, they were both hopeful about bringing Peter down.
General Hospital spoilers say Jason and Drew will keep working toward a victory, so stay tuned.
