General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 21, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) fainted over a Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) miracle while Peter August (Wes Ramsey) suffered a gunshot wound and made a river getaway. Here’s how it all went down on Tuesday’s GH episode.
In the upstairs bedroom, Carly suggested Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was overdressed and removed his tie. Jason and Carly were staring in each other’s eyes following their love professions when Sonny burst through the door.
Carly was so stunned that she fainted and still struggled to believe this once she came to. She hugged Sonny and found out he only recently regained his memory, which allowed him to find his way home.
Jason acknowledged that there was a lot to recap, but he felt the important thing was Sonny was alive and there with them.
After Jason embraced Sonny, Carly filled him in on how the kids were doing and admitted she’d given up hope on this miracle ever happening.
Sonny was glad Carly and Jason had each other to lean on, but he soon learned they did more than that since they got married!
The back-from-the-dead mob boss then found out Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was murdered and considered it no great loss.
Sonny also learned Jason was framed for the crime due to Gladys Corbin’s (Bonnie Burroughs) tip, which led to Carly having Jason stabbed in prison and forcing him to go on the run.
Carly admitted she had to step up in Jason’s absence, so she showed the other five families she deserved to be in charge.
That became a problem after Jason returned, so Sonny realized the five families expected one of them to be eliminated. Carly and Jason insisted that’s why they got married, which Sonny considered a good strategy.
Sonny also found out the wedding was just a few hours ago and realized the two of them were still in their wedding clothes, so Sonny said Carly looked beautiful.
Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) warned Peter to drop his phone and get down on the ground. She didn’t think Peter should get any ideas about reaching for the gun tucked behind his back either!
Peter wanted to talk and threatened to rat out Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) for trying to kill him if Anna took him into custody.
Anna didn’t think there was any real proof and argued with Peter before he reached for his weapon.
As Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was confronting Peter’s guide, a gunshot rang out. Valentin rushed over and saw that Peter had been shot in the shoulder.
Anna wanted to know where Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was, so Peter hoped he could bargain using that information.
However, Peter wound up taking his chances by diving off a cliff and into the nearby river.
Although the fall was potentially deadly, Valentin knew better than to assume Peter was dead. Anna made a phone call to make sure the first mile downstream was the area the fugitive hunt focused on.
Anna and Valentin also discussed how Peter’s guide was a local from the dark web.
Talk turned to the accomplice Peter was on the phone with earlier, so Anna admitted it didn’t sound like Peter was giving orders. It seemed more like the person on the other end of the line was the one with the power.
Next, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was frantic about getting to the Quartermaine mansion and worried about “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).
Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) wondered why, but Maxie covered by acting like Peter might go after “Bailey” because of his beef with Valentin.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) roped Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) into doing a puzzle with her before Maxie arrived.
Maxie was relieved to see that “Bailey” was OK and turned down Brook Lynn’s offer to stay at the mansion. She couldn’t be around Louise and not be a mother to her, but Maxie intended to stay safe.
As for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), they were the last ones at the reception.
Willow brought up the idea of living at the Quartermaine gatehouse as a family with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), which was what Michael wanted.
Michael had just been wary of pressuring Willow, but she was on board with living together and didn’t feel the need to get married right now since they were in such a good place.
At GH, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) called Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) out on the plan she cooked up with Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) cooked up to keep her busy.
Britt admitted it worked and was grateful to have been given the distraction.
Britt later got updates on all the Peter drama and checked on Maxie over the phone.
Maxie was concerned for Britt as well since she wasn’t Peter’s favorite person. Finn and Liz also learned that Peter could be on his way back to Port Charles, so word was spreading fast on the ABC soap!
