General Hospital Spoilers Update: Friday, July 9 – Jason Flies Solo on Pre-Wedding Task – Austin Turns to Britt

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, July 9, teases that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will fly solo on a pre-wedding task while Austin (Roger Howarth) turns to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and gets her perspective. Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) will also have a bit of a battle over something, so let’s talk about what’s in store.

At GH, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will hand off the job of engagement news spreading to Jason.

Carly will think it’d be better for Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) to get updates from Jason alone, so he’ll indeed handle it without his bride-to-be.

Luckily, Monica will respond well to the idea of Jason and Carly’s impending nuptials. It’ll make sense to Monica once Jason explains, so she’ll offer her approval and avoid raising a fuss.

As for Britt, she’ll continue to deal with some strong emotions and wish things could be different.

When Carly bumps into Britt, there’ll definitely be some tension. Carly will think Britt needs to try looking at this from Jason’s perspective and will push her to be more understanding.

Nevertheless, Britt may argue that she has every right to feel any way she wants – just like she has every right to let Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) in her bed if she wants, too.

Britt will also discuss a new position at GH for Austin. He’ll mention some snag that he hopes won’t stand in the way of his employment at the hospital.

It appears Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will encounter Austin and find out he could be sticking around Port Charles permanently if he scores the job he’s after.

Austin came through when Maxie needed it, but she’ll still be uneasy since he’s been part of the search for Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).

Perhaps Austin will point out that he still wants to help find Louise if possible and leave Maxie even more on edge.

Maxie really shouldn’t worry too much about Austin since he’ll be busy prepping for the ELQ meeting he’s going to crash next week, July 12-16. That’s when Austin will reveal who he really is and explain his stunning Quartermaine connection.

Until then, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will put Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) on full blast for meddling in his love life.

Curtis will want to know what made Stella think she could warn Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) away like that. Stella was just trying to help, but she definitely crossed the line and needs to apologize for it.

We’ll see if Stella sees the error of her ways or digs her heels in for now. Regardless, Stella will continue to root for Curtis and Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) reunion, but it’s Portia who Curtis seems far more interested in these days.

At Pentonville, there’ll be some drama between Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) and a prison guard. Shawn will seem ready to fight if need be – and the reason why should involve protecting Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) will hope for good news about Alexis and Shawn after they put the next phase of their plan in motion.

However, these domestic partners are entering into dangerous territory with Judge Carson (Anita Finley).

Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) was able to secure an incriminating recording of the judge, so Jordan will turn to Molly for the green light on their next move.

The commissioner will wonder what Molly expects next, so we’ll see the gang plan their follow-up steps and take more risks.

As for Martin, he’ll have a friendly conversation with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

Valentin will still be on cloud nine after that kiss with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and will keep hope alive that she’ll surrender to temptation sooner or later.

It’s clear that Valentin would like for this to go deeper than just one kiss. Valentin wouldn’t be opposed to a full-blown romance if he could just get Anna on board.

Meanwhile, Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) will ask Portia if she can rely on her vote. Terry will hope to lock in the chief of staff position if she can get enough people behind her on this.

Over with Finn, he’ll do some clashing with Liz.Finn previously wanted to move Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) corpse, so Liz may object if he suggests it again.

There’s even a chance Finn will put his potential confession back on the table, but Liz won’t want that either.

Finn will be open to Liz’s ideas on how to deal with a problem, but she may think the best thing they can do is keep acting normal.

Of course, it seems likely Peter’s body will have to be removed from the sub-basement lab sooner or later – and something tells us it may not be there when the time comes!

Liz may put off that task for now, but we’ll see how it all plays out. General Hospital spoilers say Finn and Liz will keep growing closer throughout this storyline, so don’t miss the rest of their romantic journey.
