General Hospital Spoilers Update: Monday, August 23 – Maxie Wants to Meet ‘Mike’ – Cyrus' Threat – Austin Rejects Ned’s Deal

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, August 23, teases that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will want to meet “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) while Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) threat returns. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) will also reject Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) deal, so there’ll be a lot going on in Monday’s action-packed show.

At The Tan-O, Maxie will push Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to invite her in and will admit the bar’s “retro chic” charm. Maxie will see why Nina spends so much time there – aside from the new guy in her life of course.

Speaking of that new guy, Maxie will wonder where this mysterious “Mike” is and when she’ll get a chance to meet him.

Nina will hope the answer is never and will do her best to hustle Maxie right out the door. She may argue that since Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) passed away, none of them are really feeling up to visitors right now.

However, Maxie’s bound to think Nina’s acting weird and may wonder if there’s more to the story.

Back in Port Charles, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will interrogate Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) about why he’s hiding his recovery and what he’s doing with that document.

Chase may admit the gatehouse incident and fill Brook Lynn in on the mission he’s helping Austin with, too.

In the meantime, Austin will receive an offer that’ll he’ll have no trouble refusing. Ned will be willing to pony up some serious money to get rid of the Quartermaine clan’s latest problem, but he’ll strike out.

Austin will want his ELQ shares and the satisfaction of knowing he finally got what his father was owed.

It looks like Cyrus will think he owes Laura Collins (Genie Francis) as well – owes her some payback that is!

Cyrus is a man who knows how to hold a grudge, so he may be on the verge of going after Laura from behind bars.

It’s even possible Cyrus has made his getaway somehow, but there’ll be danger no matter what.

Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) looked like he’d seen a ghost after he took that phone call and made a beeline for Laura’s place.

Once Martin shares his concerns with Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), GH spoilers say Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) will become part of the conversation.

Jordan will see the potential for real peril, so it seems she’ll want Laura to hide out somewhere for a while.

Laura might be better off in protective custody while the latest round of Cyrus madness gets sorted out.

Although Laura will push to have a say in this, Jordan may argue that the only choice is one that’ll ensure the mayor’s safety.

Leaving Port Charles temporarily seems to be the best decision, so this should offer a simple departure explanation since Genie Francis is taking the rest of the summer off.

Don’t worry since Francis will reprise her role as Laura this fall and get involved in some hot new storylines!

Until then, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will endure a grilling session about his budding romance with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).

Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) wants to see Dante move on and find some happiness, so she’ll wonder if there’s anything to report when it comes to Sam and their obvious spark.

Dante may point out that a new case has sort of pumped the brakes.

Sam’s less worried about dating and more worried about Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who called her and raised major doubts about his plane crash killing him off.

Since Sam is convinced that Drew survived somehow, she has to retrace his steps as much as she can.

There won’t be much to go on, but Sam will think she should start with the plane crash.

Seeking out the case file would be a good idea under the circumstances, so Sam will talk to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about that.

Anna will indeed retrieve that case file and get it back to Sam as soon as she can.

Thanks to this Peter August (Wes Ramsey) situation, Anna may agree anything is possible when it comes to Drew’s survival chances.

As for Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), she’ll think enough is enough when it comes to all the lies.

Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) deserves the truth, so Willow will be prepared to drop the bomb about how she really feels.

Willow is in love with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), but he won’t want her feeling any pressure to come clean if she isn’t ready.

Michael will reiterate that he’s willing to wait however long he needs to, but Willow will think it’s time to confess.

If Brook Lynn convinces Chase to show Willow his progress soon, that’s only going to leave Willow more convinced coming clean is the right call.

Whatever the case, Willow will soon gather her courage and hope she can find the strength to break Chase’s heart.

Willow is in for a big surprise when she finds out just how much Chase already knows – and it looks like that discussion’s coming up later in the week.

General Hospital spoilers say Chase and Willow’s marriage is on the verge of ending, so don’t miss what’s ahead.
