General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Wednesday, July 7, teases that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will deal with a crushing blow while Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) gets some compassion. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will also have a former flame mess to contend with, so here’s what viewers can look forward to.
First, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) will feel like “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) needs to visit Port Charles and show Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) he’s still interested.
Phyllis won’t want Sonny and Nina to let their connection go to waste, so she’ll hope “Mike” is willing to take her advice this time.
Sonny will no doubt make the trip to PC sooner or later, but it won’t be right now. He may argue that Nina still needs time and space – or maybe he’ll use Lenny Caufield (Rif Hutton) as his primary excuse.
Lenny’s got a bad ticker, so Sonny may not want to leave Phyllis alone with him until more medical tests can be done.
Back in Port Charles, Carly will face off with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher).
From where Carly’s standing, she’ll think Jax is using the situation with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) for his own selfish gain.
Carly won’t like the idea of Jax taking advantage of Britt’s pain, but Jax may have a problem with Carly butting in.
After all, Carly’s the one marrying the man Britt wants! Not to mention Britt and Jax are adults who can do whatever they like.
Jax and Britt don’t need Carly’s permission to sleep together, watch the fireworks or enjoy any other activity they have in mind.
Jax may think Carly needs to worry about her own impending marriage and let Britt make her own choices.
Of course, Jason will want to check on Britt and make sure she’s OK. He may not be as pushy as Carly, but he’ll still be concerned about her.
Jason may worry that whatever’s going on with Jax is just a reaction to his marriage decision.
Once Jason talks about how much he still cares about Britt, they’ll share some intense moments. There’s a good chance Britt will end up pushing Jason away despite the powerful connection that remains.
Britt’s just trying to cope with the news of Jason and Carly’s marriage in the only way she knows how. If Jax can help with that task, then so be it.
As for Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), they’ll discuss where things stand between them.
This could be an opportunity to head into real romantic territory, so hopefully Joss and Cam will take advantage of it.
Outside the Quartermaine mansion, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will feel a tad uncomfortable after her kiss with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Anna will suggest they shouldn’t have locked lips, but Valentin will think it was a long time coming! He’ll think they should continue moving out of the friend zone, so but it’ll be hard for Anna to take the leap.
Other GH spoilers say Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) will make life harder for scheming Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).
Monica has expressed concern over Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) over-the-top interest in “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) – and her fears are only going to grow stronger.
It’ll be up to Brook Lynn to calm Monica down and convince her she can handle Maxie’s baby obsession.
Naturally, Monica won’t realize Maxie’s drawn to “Bailey” because she’s actually her own daughter. The drama will get even more complicated as Brook Lynn and Maxie try to keep their plot in play.
As for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), she’ll deliver some difficult updates to Liesl.
Other GH spoilers point to Liesl’s sad shocker, so this all lines up to some heartache. Nina knows about Jason and Carly’s upcoming wedding, so she may have to fill Liesl in.
Obrecht was rooting for Jason to be a man Britt could depend on, but she’ll just end up disappointed. Sam is also licking her wounds after finding out about Jason’s looming union.
Sam declared her independence with the help of Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and a risky fire, but that doesn’t mean she’s moved beyond her sorrow.
Fortunately, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will show compassion and will push Sam to trust him on some big idea. With Dante’s assistance, Sam should take another step forward in her life without Jason.
As other GH details emerge, we’ll pass along updates. General Hospital spoilers say Sam will keep putting one foot in front of the other as she finds a new path.
