General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Wednesday, February 10, tease that some somber drama’s brewing in Port Charles. Before we dive in, we should point out that Tuesday’s GH episode was preempted for impeachment news coverage and is now set to air on Wednesday instead. We’ll pass along updates if General Hospital announces any other scheduling changes.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about what’s set to happen in Wednesday’s show. For starters, we’ll see plenty of sad-looking loved ones – all dressed up and ready to attend Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) funeral.
There’ll be tense music as everybody prepares to bid Sonny farewell.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will get emotional as she puts her wedding ring on. She’ll try to fasten the clasp of a necklace and grow frustrated over it.
Once Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) knocks, Carly will open her bedroom door and admit she doesn’t think she can do this. Jason will assure Carly that she can.
As for Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth), she’ll show up at Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) place along with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos).
Alexis will think her daughters will be better received without her, but Kristina will insist she’s saying goodbye to her dad today and wants her mom there.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) will wish Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) had more time with Sonny. She’ll reflect on how Dante didn’t know Sonny as a kid and admit it didn’t have to be that way. Olivia will insist that’s on her.
Dante will contend that maybe he met Sonny when he was supposed to. He won’t want Olivia questioning the past. Olivia will wish she could go back in time and tell the younger version of herself how wonderful having Dante would be.
Talk will turn to what Alexis did and how she apologized, but Olivia will admit to Dante that she won’t be offering forgiveness.
Over with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), she’ll hug Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and suggest days like today make her especially grateful she still has her father.
Joss will talk about feeling fearful and wanting to tell her parents not to go every time they leave the room. Jax will insist that fear is normal, but the important thing is not giving into it. He’ll remind Josslyn to live in the moment and to the fullest.
As for Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), she’ll find Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) mulling over which tie to wear and will help him choose.
Willow will explain that she had class, but she told her advisor that there was a death in the family. Willow will suggest that’s what they still are, so Michael will be grateful.
Once Michael brings up the gatehouse move-in offer, Willow will decide it’s the perfect solution. Michael will gush over how “amazing” Willow is, so she’ll joke that he’s not so bad either “for an ex-husband.” They’ll share some laughs and a tender look afterward.
At The Tan-O, “Mike” will take a phone call from Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy), who’s waiting on her meeting at Crimson in Port Charles.
Sonny will assure Phyllis that everything’s fine and kid around about how she should hurry back since Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) is driving him nuts.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia) will walk in and apologize for making Phyllis wait, so Phyllis will cut her call with Sonny short. Soon after, an officer will arrive at the bar to mention a string of robberies in town. He’ll wonder if “Phyllis’ latest stray” is responsible.
After Sonny’s meds adjustment is mentioned, the cop will wonder if those meds keep “Mike” from doing bad things.
Lenny will vouch for Sonny and joke about how maybe “Mike” has a whole mob under him. Sonny will chuckle that anything’s possible.
As Sonny faces more of a grilling session, he’ll talk about working late and going to bed. Sonny will invite the officer to check his prescription bottle or just take him in and let the real perp keep ripping people off.
Sonny will shout at the cop to take him in or get off his case! The officer will have a gut feeling about Sonny and will want to run his fingerprints through the system to see who he really is.
Lenny will insist that Mike is a good guy, so the officer will ask if there’s any more coffee. After Sonny goes to make a fresh pot, the cop will swipe the mug Sonny was using and pocket it so he can run the fingerprints as planned.
At Crimson, Phyllis will mention how “Mike” convinced her to come see Nina after all. She’ll be puzzled over Nina not being over the moon about her daughter.
Nina will show Phyllis the picture of Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) wearing the necklace when she was a little girl. Phyllis will suggest if Nina wants to know if that girl’s her daughter, then why not ask?
Nina will reply that it’s because that girl is dead – though she’ll want Phyllis’ help with confirmation that Nelle is indeed her daughter. Phyllis will reel over the tragic cliff accident and where Nelle’s horrible life led her.
There’s still a chance Nelle isn’t Nina’s child, so Nina’s will hope Phyllis can offer assistance.
Back with Carly, she’ll talk about the part of herself that she uses to get through things. However, Carly will contend that she got up today and couldn’t find it. She tried to imagine herself burying Sonny’s casket without a body next to their son and Sonny’s father, but she couldn’t do it.
Carly will cry that this is the first time she doesn’t have a plan, so she’ll hope Jason has one. Jason will suggest that Carly’s dressed and ready – so that seems like a plan. He’ll talk about Carly being a survivor and having an instinct in her that won’t give up.
Carly will note that Jason knew who Sonny was at his core. She’ll admit that Sonny was complicated – and not always in a good way.
Carly will confess she just can’t see her life without Sonny, so Jason will acknowledge that maybe they’ll never fill the hole Sonny’s left in their hearts.
Even so, this is the life they made – and there’s no other option but for Carly to get through it. Jason will insist that Carly never fails the people she loves.
Carly won’t know who she is without Sonny, but Jason will think they should focus on getting through the next few hours.
After Carly jokes about how Sonny loved being the center of attention, Jason will insist that Carly made Sonny’s life whole. As Jason cries, he’ll express his gratitude to Carly.
At Alexis’ place again, she’ll reluctantly go get dressed and turn down Molly’s offer to help. Molly will feel bad about not trusting her mom, but Sam and Kristina will understand.
When it comes to Alexis’ odds of getting a sympathetic jury, Molly won’t think they’re good. She’ll offer some legal tips, but it all comes down to Alexis and her real commitment to getting sober.
Once Alexis is ready, she’ll push Sam, Molly and Kristina to go ahead to the car. Alexis will run to the cabinet to sneak a drink, so she’ll take a swig and turn around to see a concerned Molly staring at her.
Back at Crimson, Nina will hand Phyllis a pic of Frank Benson. Phyllis will admit she’ll never forget the face of the man she gave Phyllis’ baby to – and that’s him. Nina will confess she already knew it in her gut. She’ll contend that perhaps Nelle wasn’t intrinsically evil.
Nina will feel like there was a chance for Nelle if someone had been there for her – and Nina will feel like it should’ve been her.
Phyllis will want to call Jax to support Nina, but she’ll come clean about Jax knowing the truth about Nelle and keeping it from her.
Although Jax didn’t know until Nelle was dead, Nina will be upset about him keeping her from her grandson, Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
Nina will think it should’ve occurred to Jax, but Phyllis won’t think it was calculated or done with malice.
Phyllis will point out that Nina said she loved Jax, so she’ll wonder if there’s a chance for them to patch things up. Back with Michael, he’ll share a drink with Dante at the Quartermaine mansion and toast to their father.
Afterward, Michael will share another private moment with Willlow and share a memory about Sonny teaching him to tie his tie. Willow will put the finishing touches on the knot and lean in close. She’ll ultimately take Michael’s hand as they dash off for Sonny’s service.
At the Corinthos home, Josslyn will worry that there might be some trouble at the service. She’ll get a pep talk from Jason about the security measures that are in place.
Jason will acknowledge that there are no guarantees in life, but he’ll think Joss has to live life and not shut down. Jason will promise to do his best and live life to the fullest since that’s really the only promise anyone can keep.
In a private area of the church, Carly will push Jax to go ahead and unload on her since everything he warned about is coming true. However, Jax will respect how much Carly loved Sonny and how much Joss loved Sonny, too.
Carly and Jax will start talking about Nelle and what went down on the cliff – right as Nina shows up to eavesdrop.
Carly will ultimately decide she’s not going to think about Nelle at this funeral. Nina will listen as Carly contends that Nelle is dead and what happened that night can die with her. Out of sight, Nina will look horrified by what she apparently views as a confession.
