General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, July 7 Recap – Jason Admits Loving Carly - Sam Kisses Dante – Anna Rejects Valentin

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 7, reveals that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) kissed Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) while Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) faced off over Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) also rejected Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), so here’s the scoop on Wednesday’s GH show.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) tried to get the baby away from Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and then cornered Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) while Maxie was out of the room.

Monica felt like Maxie was using “Bailey Quartermaine” (Harper and Scarlett Bloom) as a way to cope with the pain of losing Louise.

Monica thought Maxie needed professional help, so she suggested talking to Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) about her issues. Brook Lynn acted like that was extreme and wanted to gently try getting through to Maxie herself.

Next, Valentin wrapped up a kiss with Anna on the patio that he felt was long overdue.

Anna, on the other hand, insisted it couldn’t happen again and tried to downplay this as something that wasn’t real. She argued she’d never be interested in Valentin – not in that way.

Valentin did his best to charm Anna, who thought he was a terrible influence on her. They enjoyed their usual banter as Valentin pointed out how hot Anna’s worst impulses were.

If Anna ever wanted more than just that one kiss, Valentin suggested she knew where to find him.

On the pier, Dante scolded Sam about the fire and pointed out he could take her in for being drunk and disorderly.

Sam wound up lunging at Dante and pulling him into the harbor with her, but things settled down after they climbed out.

Thanks to Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), Dante realized Carly and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) engagement was the reason Sam was acting out.

Dante assured Sam that he wasn’t taking her to the station and asked if she trusted him.

After Dante took off with Sam, Liz stayed on the pier with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and explained her thought process behind the fire drama.

Since Finn understood coming in second to Anna’s work, he related to how Liz once felt with Jason.

Liz and Finn decided that although misery loves company, they weren’t miserable in this moment.

As they enjoyed the fireworks show, Liz put her head on Finn’s shoulder. He talked about how much Liz had come to mean to him, but he realized she’d fallen asleep.

Following Jason and Carly’s Metro Court encounter with Jax and Britt, Carly cornered Jax alone to rip into him.

Carly felt like Jax knew Britt had fallen for Jason and that he was taking advantage of the situation by sleeping with her.

Jax fired back about it being inevitable that Carly would wind up with Jason after Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) death.

Jax felt like an idiot for thinking Carly might use this chance to get out of the mob since she cemented her place in it with Jason instead.

Jason found Britt at the bar to remind her that he was a man of his word and wanted to support her. Britt figured she hadn’t made herself clear before and wanted to now.

Britt snapped at Jason to “go to hell” and felt she could deal with her diagnosis without him. Britt also wanted Jason to admit he’d been in love with Carly all along.

Jason insisted that just because he loved Carly didn’t mean he didn’t love the other women he was with over the years.

Jason hinted that his love for Carly was just part of him, so Britt suggested that Carly knew a good thing when she had it.

When Carly reconvened with Jason later, she recapped Jax’s criticism along with her fear that he might be right.

After Jason and Carly went out to watch the fireworks on the terrace, Britt and Jax were out there watching as well. Carly pulled Jason close in a warm moment and wished him a happy Fourth of July.

Meanwhile, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) finally got honest about their feelings and how they’d had them for a long time.

They couldn’t go back to fix their communication problems, but they resolved to move forward and locked lips under the fireworks.

In Nixon Falls, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) once again urged Sonny to visit Nina in Port Charles, but she wasn’t able to convince him.

However, “Mike” did leave Nina a voicemail to express his hope that she was having a good time in PC.

At Charlie’s Pub, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) fished for details on the new man in Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) life. When Nina wouldn’t offer a last name for “Mike” or any pictures, Liesl worried he was married.

That led to Nina’s crushing news about Jason marrying Carly, which saddened Liesl since she thought Britt had found someone to share a future with.

When Sam and Dante showed up, Obrecht upset Sam by pushing for “Jarly” engagement confirmation. After Sam exited, Dante went after her.

Dante admitted to thinking Jason screwed up and said he would’ve chosen Sam.

That led to a passionate kiss under the fireworks, but Sam pulled away and said she couldn’t do this before rushing off.

We’ll bring you updates as other GH details emerge. General Hospital spoilers say Sam and Dante will have a lot to talk about soon, so stay tuned.
