General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, March 17 Recap – Jason Arrested for Franco’s Murder – Peter Pulls Gun on Cyrus

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 17, reveals that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) whipped out a gun as Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) approached him in the cemetery.

Peter acknowledged that Cyrus had chosen their meeting place before exchanging pleasantries. Cyrus kept an upbeat tone as he suggested that if Peter shot him, it’d be his last move.

Peter looked down to see a red dot on his chest – indicating that Cyrus had a gun being held on Peter, too. Cyrus added that there was one pointed at the back of Peter’s head as well, so Peter lowered his weapon and wondered if this meeting was about the article Peter published.

Cyrus argued that the article was out there and couldn’t be undone. He tied that in with the value of keeping secrets – something that Peter knows all about.

Cyrus noted that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) lied about Peter’s true mother, and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had kicked him to the curb.

Peter insisted that Maxie would come around, but what Cyrus wanted to talk about was a common problem: Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Cyrus wondered if Peter could live with the threat of Jason always being over his shoulder and suggested he could do something about that.

Peter wondered what was in it for Cyrus. In the short-term, Cyrus suggested he would get rid of a nuisance. In the long-term, Cyrus was certain that Peter would be of use to him. After Cyrus asked if they had a deal, Peter shook Cyrus’ hand to seal it.

At Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) house, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) stopped by and wanted to know how she could help ahead of Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) memorial.

After Aiden Webber (Jason David) came downstairs in his suit, Jake Webber (Hudson West) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) appeared as well.

Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) reflected on how Franco used to tease him about his pocket squares. It left Scott so torn up about it that he couldn’t wear one today.

Aiden talked about what a good dad Franco was – and Jake agreed along with Cameron. After the boys practiced their speeches, a distraught Liz excused herself to the kitchen.

Laura followed to check on Elizabeth, who was upset about her sons having to defend Franco – even in death. Liz ranted about Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) being to blame for this. Although Laura wasn’t as sure, Elizabeth wanted to make sure Jason paid for it.

When it was time to leave, Liz stayed behind and looked at the empty living room for a moment. Elizabeth thought back on her entire love story with Franco as General Hospital delivered a sweet “Friz” montage.

It ended with Franco telling Liz “til death do them part.” Elizabeth told Franco she loved him, too – and then headed out to join her boys along with Scott and Laura.

At the gallery, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) was hopeful about Elizabeth liking the big surprise she came up with for Franco.

Nikolas Cassadine (Maura West) later learned from Laura that Liz blamed Jason for killing Franco – and Liz’s opinion was good enough for him. However, Laura didn’t feel there’d be justice if the wrong man was accused.

Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) bumped into Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who apologized for thinking the worst of Liesl due to the setup. Obrecht argued that it wasn’t the time to hold grudges since they were there to say goodbye to Franco.

Talk turned to Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and Nina’s sadness over not being able to know her after the truth came out.

Liesl delighted Nina by confessing that she delivered Nelle’s baby during her prison break. Nina was moved to tears and was grateful that Liesl was there for Nelle.

Nina also mentioned that she needed to leave town, so Liesl worried she was leaving for good. However, Nina felt like she just needed to get away for a while – to clear her head after losing her daughter and the man she loved.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) tried to talk to Nina briefly, but she accidentally kept putting her foot in her mouth regarding Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Nelle. Nina was understanding and assured Joss she should never apologize for being honest. Josslyn was truly sorry about Nina and Jax’s breakup.

In the Corinthos family kitchen, Jason pushed Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to share what was bothering her. Carly was reluctant, but she eventually admitted that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) used to make her first cup of coffee every morning.

No matter what Carly did, that first cup never tasted the same now.

Carly grew angry and ended up shattering her mug against the counter. She wanted Jason to yell back to make her feel better, but Jason insisted she was really mad at Sonny. “Damn right I am!” Carly declared.

Carly went on a rant about how they don’t even really know what happened to Sonny – whether he drowned, where the body ended up, etc. The thought of Sonny’s body lost beneath that cold water was more than Carly could stand.

Carly shouted that Sonny is gone and everything is wrong, but Jason pulled Carly into a hug to comfort her.

Back at the memorial, Ava found out Nina was leaving and hoped she would come back. Nina promised she would – and they admitted they would miss each other.

Afterward, Ava revealed her big surprise. It was a wall of artwork from the patients Franco had worked with in art therapy. Elizabeth was clearly touched by the gesture.

At GH, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) were getting along well in front of TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), who wondered if they were back together.

Jordan clarified that Curtis was making some big changes to his life and informed TJ that he’d bought a nightclub. The news caught TJ off guard, but he wrapped his head around it and got on board.

TJ also received congratulations on his domestic partnership from Curtis – and Jordan got called away on police business. She wound up in the Corinthos kitchen later and placed Jason under arrest for the murder of Franco Baldwin.

As for Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), she told Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) decision to plead guilty.

Dante felt like maybe the system would go easier on Alexis that way, but Sam scoffed about Dante having faith in the system at all since Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was getting off the hook.

After Dante was summoned to the cemetery, he met with Liesl. She insisted she was done with indirect methods and delayed gratification. Obrecht told Dante that it was time to finally take care of Peter August.

Back with Sam at Kelly’s, Peter walked up and pushed her buttons. Sam argued that once Peter was behind bars, she’d never have to look him in the eyes again. Peter insisted that the bogus charges against him would never stick.
