General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, September 22 Recap – Carly Trades Jason’s Rings for Sonny’s – Corinthos Kids Reunion

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 22, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) traded Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) rings for Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) – and the Corinthos kids got an amazing reunion. Here’s how it all went down on Wednesday’s GH episode.

At home, Carly teased Sonny by wondering “what the hell” he was wearing. While Jason was downstairs answering the door to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), Sonny told Carly the story of Mike Corbin (Max Gail) appearing to him when he first washed up from the river.

Although Sonny always felt like something was missing, he suggested he kept shoving that aside and delayed looking into his past. Sonny knew Carly and the kids were what was missing now. Carly wanted to put her old wedding ring set on, so Sonny asked if he could do it.

Once Carly admired having those rings back on her finger, she smiled at Sonny and suggested they’d always been perfectly imperfect. Carly felt like Sonny could use a drink – and he pointed out that he wanted to reunite with his children.

Sonny started to head downstairs, but Carly hesitated while looking at the engagement ring Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) gave her and the new wedding band she’d taken off. When Sonny asked if Carly was coming, she snapped out of it and joined him.

As for Jason, he was reminded of his own wedding band and took it off as well. Jason then faced Dante’s questions about the car explosion, but he kept trying to turn the detective’s attention to a more important matter.

Finally, Sonny came downstairs and blew Dante away with his return from the dead. Dante hugged Sonny before sharing some heartfelt words he never thought he’d get a chance to say – and Carly summoned the rest of the gang to get some urgent good news.

At Charlie’s Pub, Ava Jerome (Maura West) handed over the key and trusted Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) to take care of the place until she could sell it. They discussed Jason and Carly’s wedding, which Kristina declined to attend – both out of loyalty for Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and because it made her father’s death all too real.

Kristina also offered up the divorce papers that had been delivered to the pub and sensed Ava’s hesitation on signing them. Ava admitted she had plenty of second thoughts, but she always returned to her first thought of keeping Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) safe – which was what was most important.

Once Ava was alone, she started to sign the divorce papers and then decided they would keep until tomorrow. By the Metro Court pool, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) found out Cameron Webber (William Lipton) invited Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) to join them.

That invitation didn’t thrill Josslyn, who feared Spencer would bring Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) the “human barnacle.” Joss also ranted about Spencer always doing something wrong every time they started to feel bad for him.

Spencer showed up in time to hear and suggested Josslyn should tell him how she really feels! After Spencer delivered a sincere apology to Trina for his recent behavior, she playfully said she’d maybe think about forgiving him in the next century. Spencer was pleased at the thought of another chance.

Later, Esme showed up and was her usual pot-stirring self. She tried to act like mob life must be tough, but Josslyn pointed out that it had its perks since she could make people disappear. Cameron urged Josslyn to admit she’d never complained and made someone vanish, but Joss suggested there was a first time for everything.

Suddenly, Josslyn got called to the Corinthos compound and had to dash off. While Spencer and Cameron were getting food, Esme pushed Trina’s buttons again. In a moment alone, Trina had flashbacks of comments Esme had made and realized she’d teamed up to help Spencer stalk Ava.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) crossed paths with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Things were awkward, but Chase declared no more eggshells. The three of them were all good since Chase wanted to move on – though he admitted they couldn’t really go back to how they were before.

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) piped up to suggest that perhaps in a couple years, they could share a laugh about all this. She suggested the situation was very Three’s Company – and later, Brook Lynn accepted Chase’s offer to grab a beer or the libation of her choosing.

Back at the Corinthos house, Michael and Josslyn showed up confused over Carly’s big surprise. After Michael embraced Sonny and shared a tender moment with him, Josslyn enjoyed a Sonny reunion as well. Afterward, Kristina had by far the most emotional reaction as she pulled Sonny close and soaked in his homecoming.

Next, the Corinthos clan enjoyed some celebratory drinks. Jason gave Sonny a hug before heading out, but he paused to share a bittersweet moment with Carly as they gazed at each other across the room.

In Nixon Falls, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) begged Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) to tell her the nightmare was over for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storm) and the baby’s sake. Jax hadn’t heard any Peter August (Wes Ramsey) news from Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) or Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), which Nina thought was a bad sign.

Nina knew she’d made a mess and felt lost. She knew she wouldn’t be allowed to see Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), so she couldn’t go back to Port Charles and didn’t belong in Nixon Falls either.

Nina wound up hashing things out with Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy), who suggested Nina couldn’t undo her mistakes. Phyllis felt Nina had to focus on owning up to what she did and make an effort to move forward.

We’ll deliver updates as other GH details roll in. General Hospital spoilers say Nina will have to go on an apology tour soon, so stay tuned. CDL’s where you want to be for scorching General Hospital spoilers, news and updates, so stop by frequently.
