General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for the week of December 20-24 teases that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will host a Christmas gathering without Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) while Santa comes to town with a surprise. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will also blast Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) as Port Charles celebrates the holiday season.
At Charlie’s Pub, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) will put Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) on the spot. She’ll urge Nina to come clean about her true feelings and will have a strong hunch that Nina’s still in love with Sonny.
Based on Nina’s declarations and all her interactions with Sonny, we’d say Phyllis is right!
Even so, Nina may feel like what’s in her heart is less important than the marriage Sonny’s committed to.
Over with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), she’ll give Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) some intel that could help him get the case chucked in court.
Scott will reel when Liesl shares how she put it together that Sonny and Nina may have fallen in love. Obrecht will help Scott see that there’s a way out of this mess for Nina.
Scott just has to paint the picture of Sonny being a willing participant in that new Nixon Falls life. He can make it seem less about identity fraud and more about a guy reinventing himself with a new woman.
While Scott prepares for the pretrial battle ahead, Sonny will enjoy spending time with his family this Christmas.
Sonny wasn’t able to spend the holiday with Carly and his kids last year, so that’ll make things extra special this time around.
Even so, the loss of Jason will no doubt be felt for Sonny, Carly, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and everyone else in the Corinthos home.
As for Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), she’ll love having Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) back for her own holiday bash. Monica will miss Jason as well, but she’ll still find a way to count her blessings.
After Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) strengthens his bond with Spencer, there’ll be some Cassadine family drama.
GH viewers will be treated to another rowdy gathering at Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) house, so this is already becoming quite the tradition.
Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) will cozy up to Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) at the hospital while volunteering – at least as much as Epiphany will let him.
In the meantime, it’ll be a sad say for Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) as she goes home without Liam Corbin. Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) will try to help Sasha cope with her baby-less release, but it won’t be easy.
Back with Spencer, he’ll seethe when he finds Trina talking to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). Spencer will get the feeling that Nikolas and Trina are plotting how to handle him somehow, so he’s not going to approve.
There’ll be a sense of betrayal that leads to Spencer’s outburst and puts a strain on his friendship with Trina.
Laura will get some stunning updates from Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), who’ll promise his sister that he didn’t order the assassin that ultimately showed up. Any danger that went down at the safe house was due to someone else’s twisted plot.
Cyrus will argue that he’s turned over a new leaf after almost dying. He’ll reflect on finding God in prison and truly wish Laura well as she returns home.
Laura will reunite with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and perhaps say a few words at Port Charles’ tree-lighting ceremony.
A run-in is also coming up for Laura and Victor, who just might be the culprit when it comes to that hitwoman at the safe house.
Drew will be pleasantly surprised to bump into Elizabeth “Liz” Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and catch up with her.
Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) will also enjoy having holiday tea with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), so Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) will be glad he could give them some bonding time.
Santa Claus will also head to the hospital and make sure an unexpected reunion plays out.
Back with Liesl, she’ll push Scott to do whatever it takes to get Nina off the hook. Nina’s preliminary hearing will kick off as more PC drama strikes, so we’ll keep you posted as other GH news comes in.
General Hospital spoilers say there’ll be an encore presentation on Friday, December 24, but the show will come right back with new episodes starting Monday, December 27.
