General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of September 20-24 tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will prepare for his PC return as a family reunion looms. Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will also face Peter August (Wes Ramsey) terror while Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) takedown begins.
In Nixon Falls, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will reflect on the mess she created by keeping Sonny’s survival a secret.
Nina will try to make sense of how she let things spiral out of control like this – and Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) will want some answers about that as well.
Phyllis will lash out at Nina for hiding the truth about Sonny’s identity, so they’ll try to work through their issues and salvage their friendship.
As for Sonny, he’ll eventually find himself safe after the fire and on his way back to Port Charles with all his memories.
As for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), they’ll already be husband and wife.
Carly and Jason’s wedding reception will get underway, so that’ll give Maxie a chance to bond with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) while Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) blasts Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) for keeping secrets.
Ned will apparently come clean about some other troubling Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) warning signs and rile Olivia up since he didn’t tell her sooner.
In the meantime, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) will score praise from Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), who’ll be grateful Maxie has the doc’s support.
Speaking of Maxie, she’ll eventually hear from Nina about all the Nixon Falls chaos – including the part about Peter being alive and still on the run.
Maxie will freak over the possibility that Peter will head for Port Charles and figure out “Bailey Quartermaine” is actually Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).
Maxie should also be concerned about James West (Curtis and Owen Rufca) since Peter threatened him, too.
While Maxie panics, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will face after Peter and ultimately catch up with him.
Anna will be armed with no warmth in her heart whatsoever for Peter. She cared about Peter once upon a time, but Anna has seen too much evil destruction to feel that way anymore.
GH spoilers say Peter and Anna will have an intense faceoff while Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) rushes to offer Anna backup.
No matter the outcome of that showdown, Anna will face an alarming call later – and Britt will get some news that leaves her deeply disturbed.
Perhaps some Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) clues will surface since he’s alive and behind Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) kidnapping.
As for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), he’ll pass along a present to Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) before making peace with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen).
Willow and Michael will also have a chance to discuss what their future’s going to look like.
Meanwhile, Ava Jerome (Maura West) will recruit Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) to step up for her at Charlie’s Pub while she’s out of the country.
Naturally, it makes sense to bring Kristina back in the picture considering Sonny’s about to make an epic return.
Sonny’s whole family needs to be around for that! He’ll come home just in time for Jason and Carly’s wedding night, so you can imagine how shocking and awkward that’s going to be.
Across town, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) will score confirmation of Esme’s guilt and work to take her down with Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) help.
As for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), he’ll change his mind about something while Esme turns on the phony charm and tries to befriend Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
Josslyn will obviously remain wary of Esme and refuse to let her get the upper hand! General Hospital spoilers say Esme has a few more tricks up her sleeve, so stay tuned.
