General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the ABC soap has once again shoved aside a crucial character. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is a drunken mess whose life is spiraling out of control. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is presumed dead and his family is mourning the loss.
Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Lexi Ainsworth) parents are at the center of major storylines, so where on earth is Kristina?!
GH writers clearly don’t consider Kristina to be very valuable to the canvas. Kristina hasn’t had a real story of her own in quite some time – and the last time she did, it was only to make her look ridiculous for joining Dawn of Day and buying all Shiloh Archer’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) lies.
Kristina could use a new love story or at least a new career story, but we’d settle for her just being included as part of her families. GH fans will recall that Kristina never got a sweet farewell moment with Mike Corbin (Max Gail) like most of the other Corinthos clan members.
General Hospital finally let Kristina attend Mike’s funeral, but it was the absolute least the show could do.
Now that Sonny’s family believes he’s dead and gone, Kristina certainly deserves a chance to grieve for her beloved dad. Let’s look at what some disgruntled viewers have been saying on Twitter.
“Kristina missing from all this family stuff really is strange,” one fan tweeted. “We see more dead Mike than we do Kristina,” another insisted.
“Why the writers acting like Kristina doesn’t exist?” one more viewer wondered. “Kristina should be there making stupid emotional mistakes like trying to confront Cyrus.. it’s a glaring absence,” another General Hospital fan argued.
Since it’s so odd for Kristina to be left out of huge family developments, it’s led some viewers to wonder about Lexi Ainsworth’s status on the show. It’s possible Ainsworth isn’t available to film, but it’s equally possible that General Hospital has just deemed Kristina unnecessary.
Either way, there needs to be a decent excuse for why Kristina isn’t showing up when people she loves die or are in crisis. Sonny and Alexis need all their children involved in their stories, so let’s hope some changes are made down the road. It’d be great to see Kristina included like her siblings more often.
