General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show may be gearing up for a major murder mystery based on the clues they’ve offered. There have been some ominous hints about Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) grim fate, which makes sense under the circumstances. Peter has become too sinister to live!
All signs point to Peter facing a deadly exit at some point, so we have to ask: Who will kill Peter August? That could be the question GH writers are going to answer down the road.
In the meantime, we’ve seen plenty of Port Charles residents talking about what a dangerous threat Peter is and how he needs to be stopped.
Since there are so many people who’d like to see Peter out of the picture, the suspect list in a murder mystery could be a mile long. Of course, there’s no guarantee that’s the route GH writers will take, but they have a great opportunity here.
It’d be fun to present a guessing game that sets the stage for the big reveal of who killed Peter.
If a whodunit is indeed on the horizon and Peter meets a gruesome end, who might pull the trigger or find some other method of taking Peter out? We mentioned the long suspect list, which would no doubt include Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) once he’s ultimately released.
However, Jason is perhaps a bit too obvious – and the same goes for Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) triggers have been removed, so that makes him a less likely killer contender as well.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) would have a motive once they’re wise to Peter’s guilt, but we’re not sure we envision either one of them really committing the crime here. That leaves us with a handful of other great potential culprits.
Some General Hospital fans would like to see Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) snap and take Peter out herself. If Maxie ends up in a situation where she feels her baby must be protected, we could certainly see her doing whatever she has to do.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) would be another exciting option if she does it to save Maxie or even Jason following his release. Since Britt is Peter’s sister, that’s the kind of thing that would make for a dramatic story.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is one more possible Peter killer – maybe even the most likely one. We could imagine a dilemma where Anna has to kill her nephew and the man she once thought was her son.
General Hospital spoilers say Anna will want Peter neutralized in the months ahead, so she might wind up forced to take him out in a life-threatening moment.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) is another option that’d have real dramatic potential. Once Cam zeros in on Peter’s guilt in Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) death, he could take matters into his own hands. It would fit with the “bad boy” Cameron story that GH is on the verge of telling.
There’s also Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) since people usually don’t cut ties with Cyrus unless he says so!
Peter made a deal with the devil, so it could come back to bite him if Cyrus starts making more demands. Since Peter isn’t likely to cooperate, it could make him a deadly target.
