General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dr. Austin (Roger Howarth) will eventually become part of the medical scene in Port Charles, so will he help Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) uncover some potentially wrong genetic test results? Is it possible Britt doesn’t have the Huntington’s disease marker after all?
Britt was devastated when she finally found the courage to undergo testing and had her worst fear confirmed.
Deep down, Britt thought if she was brave enough to take that step, she’d be rewarded with the results she wanted. She was hoping to move forward without such a dark cloud of uncertainty hanging over her.
Instead, Britt got confirmation on a death sentence and is struggling to accept the difficult fate that awaits her. Now Britt has a different type of uncertainty since she doesn’t know when Huntington’s symptoms will take over her life.
As Britt discussed with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), it could be six months from now or 30 years from now. It could also be somewhere in between, but the point is Britt has to live in fear all over again.
Of course, it’s possible this is the story GH writers want to tell, but it’s also possible they’re just using this as a way to bring Britt and Jason closer. Once the story’s done its job, there’s always a chance the show will undo Britt’s outcome.
That’s especially true since we’ve got Dr. Austin in the mix now. Austin will surely need an opportunity to show off his skills at GH – no matter what those skills may be.
Although Austin delivered Maxie’s baby, that’s something a doctor in any field would’ve done under the circumstances.
The show hasn’t revealed Austin’s specialty yet, but he’s probably something other than an OB-GYN. Regardless, Austin is indeed a doctor and that means he could somehow catch onto the fact that Britt’s test results aren’t what they seem to be.
If Britt ends up undergoing another test, maybe Austin could help her realize she doesn’t actually have the Huntington’s marker – that it was just some sort of mistake or false positive.
It’d be interesting to see Austin become part of Britt and Jason’s storyline as well as other hot plots in PC.
