Someone murdered Rick’s friend. The killer or killers waited until Robbie went into the vehicle to set off a bomb and the bomb killed Rick’s oldest friend in the world. But Rick survived. He was close enough to the explosion that it knocked him off his feet and he some scratches and bruises. He might also have a concussion. The EMTs wanted to take him to the hospital and his friends agreed with that assessment. They thought it best that Rick gets as far away from the feds as possible. The feds have taken over Robbie’s case and the man leading the charge was FBI Special Agent Ray Sloane. Sloane was the one who took personal time to hunt Robbie down to the island. The people that Robbie used to work for had probably found him thanks to Sloane’s investigation. And so Rick sort of tried to fight him.
Rick grabbed Sloane at the scene. He blamed him for his friend’s death and his friends had to drag him away. Its why they recommended he got to the hospital. Which he did. Rick went to the hospital and he was going to be fine, but Sloane was recalled back to Chicago because Detective Katsumoto reported what happened to Sloane’s bosses and so he had to go back home to answer for what happened. Rick in the meantime was taken into protective custody. His friend Robbie was involved with some dangerous guys and the guys killed Robbie because they thought he would talk. They might try to kill Rick too if they thought Robbie had told him anything. Rick’s safety had been everyone’s first concern.
Their next concern was where was Higgins? She didn’t come to check on Rick and that didn’t sound like her. Magnum went looking for her. he found out her cell phone was off and where she last left it. He also saw when men in a blacked out car dropped her off near her car with a bag over her head. From there, Magnum was able to piece things together. He knows that she got in trouble in Kenya and that the MI6 covered for her. He also knew she’s been working for them again. Magnum how bad it is and she told him that there was a security breach. Someone stole several MI6 documents. This included Higgins’s file and that information can not get out. It would jeopardize Higgins. It could put a target on her back that would have people as well as whole countries coming after her.
Higgins was hired by MI6 to find the data and destroy it. Her handler even came to Hawaii to keep an eye on things. Higgins told Magnum that she had to do this on her own and so he backed off. He didn’t like it, but he backed off. This left Higgins to do what she needed to do and she later made contact with the former MI6 Agent who was behind the data breach. He used to work with Higgins. He was willing to turn over her file if she agreed to work for him and so she pretended to do so. But the first thing he aske her to do was to torture an active MI6 Agent. This agent that Higgins had to torture was in fact her handler who came to the island to speak with her and this meant Higgins want to hurt her but she had to do it anyways because they were being watched.
Higgins fed Eve a name using morse code. She almost had the bad guys turning on themselves when unfortunately cracked Eve’s phone and found out Higgins was the MI6 Agent sent in to erase the data. They killed Eve. They took Higgins hostage. She was made an offer to join them. She would have been killed the moment she said “no” and so it’s a good thing Magnum came along to create a distraction. Magnum never does back down from a fight. He went after Higgins and he found out that she was going to be killed before she was even sent in to torture her handler. Sean Cavendish had remembered Higgins well from when they served together. He suspected her before they had met and the only reason he didn’t kill her outright is because he wanted to turn her.
Cavendish was disavowed by MI6 after a failed mission. He was captured and tortured and he never found out by who. He just knows that the company never came after him. Cavendish wanted revenge which is why stole the data and he and his henchmen were going to get away with it too. Then Magnum arrived. He and Higgins who escaped had managed to take down the bad guys and they recovered the stolen data. Higgins had to answer some remaining questions from the CIA. She was doing so as Magnum was being alerted to what happened with Rick. Rick escaped from protection and he was going to go after the men that killed Robbie. The feds didn’t have enough on the guys to arrest and so they were just going to let him go. And Rick couldn’t live with that because he blames himself for what happened.
Rick felt he should have turned Robbie in. He also thought he shouldn’t have let Robbie take the fall for him when they were kids and so it was TC who convinced him that Robbie never regretted what he did. He took the fall so that Rick could have a good life. And Rick shouldn’t risk that by hunting anyone down.
TC got Rick to stop what he was doing before anyone got hurt and surprisingly it was Higgins who talked to him afterwards about their experiences that got Rick to stop regretting not taking the shot.
The End!
