In tonight’s Masterchef premiere episode, the episode begins with chef Gordon Ramsay taking a drive along the coast and telling us that it is day one of an all-new season of MasterChef. Buckle up because Gordon is kicking it up to high gear, this is the season of Legends. He is doing something that he has never done before, opening the doors to Masterchef kitchen to some of the biggest names in the culinary world. The undeniable queen, Paula Dean, legendary Emeril Lagasse, Curtis Stone, Morimoto.
Every single week, Joe Bastianich, Gordon Ramsay and Aarón Sánchez will be joined by the crème de la crème.
Only 15 white aprons will be given out for a chance to compete in MasterChef Legends and win $250,000, a complete Viking kitchen and kitchen tools and bakeware products from OXO.
The hopefuls arrive in the kitchen, it looks like there are well over a hundred there with their families. Joe, Gordon, and Aarón enter the kitchen. Gordon tells them they are lucky and this is where it begins. Unlike any other time before, they are bringing the biggest names in the culinary world every week. These are the best home cooks in the country, but only one can win. Tonight their task is to impress the judges with their signature dishes and show them that they deserve a legendary MasterChef apron.
It’s taken eleven years for Gordon to get Emeril on the show, tonight he will be guest judging with the trio. Emeril tells the group that he is looking for passion, delicious food, it’s time to bring it and have fun, cook from the heart. The home cooks will have to convince at least three of the judges to get a white apron.
Here, to offer a little help and guidance is last year’s winner, Dorian, with Sarah and Nick. Dorian tells them that if they get an apron or not, this is a hurdle, they have already beat out thousands of people and that is something to be proud of. They have forty-five minutes to cook their signature dishes. Aarón says the smallest mistake can send them home.
