In tonight’s NCIS episode, the body of Sandra Holdren was found at the Naval Station in Nofolk. Holdren was a civilian. She was dead for an apparent gun wound to the head and so it was definitely murder. She was killed on Naval property. Thereby making her death a case for NCIS. But what they couldn’t figure out was why she was there? Holdren is a hotshot financial advisor. She doesn’t have a loved one in the Navy and that same station recently spotted someone spying on a children’s soccer game nearby. They just didn’t know why Holdren was involved with that if it was her. They also didn’t know who would want her dead enough to use a silencer on her and the silencer was indicating some premeditation in the murder. And so the team visited her home to talk with the people who supposedly knew her best.
They spoke with her butler. But the man she loved as family said they could speak to Holdren directly. Holdren had created an interactive hologram of herself with her memories and her personality. If they wanted to know who killed her, they had to ask her hologram. The hologram looks just like her. It moves like her too. It was a bit trippy. Holdren created because she wanted to leave something behind for her daughter and grandson if anything ever happened to her. The autopsy revealed she was dying. She therefore created the hologram knowing it would be needed. She just didn’t know how soon. The team questioned the hologram. They got her to reveal she was sent a threatening letter and she refused to say what the letter was about.
The letter also didn’t reveal what it was about. Someone simply wrote “you’ll pay for what you did”. The team asked her co-workers and got nowhere. They then turned to Holdren’s daughter Ruby. Ruby hasn’t spoken to her mother in years. She hated her mom. She wasn’t even sad about her death and so she happily told them what her mother did. Her mother was the female Bernie Madoff. She stole millions from her clients. She was tried and her amazing lawyer got her off without any jail time and that left behind a lot of angry people. Knight and Torres went back to the hologram. They asked Holdren about the embezzlement. She admitted that she was so sorry about what she did and that it was the biggest regret of her life because it cost her Ben.
Holdren said she blames herself for Ben killing himself. Ben was her late son who drove off a bridge in a car accident that only involved him and he left behind a son. A son that was given to his sister. Ruby raises her nephew as if he was her own child and the hologram was so proud of her for doing so. Holdren also swore she turned around her life. The team spoke with her lawyer and she made restitution. She paid back everyone she ever stole from. Holdren truly did regret what she did. She changed around her life and she wanted her family back. The lawyer said that her victims had no reason to be angry with her and that the only person he was concerned about was her butler. Geoffrey had gotten angry after he found out he was being left out of the will.
The team went back to her house to confront Geoffrey. They found him gone and he took the hologram with him. Geoffrey disappeared. They put out a BOLO. They couldn’t find him and he wasn’t using his credit cards. They had to call the company that made the hologram for a backup file. They then used Kasie who was their resident hologram expert because she created one of her hamster. Kasie recreated the hologram of Holdren and they asked her where Geoffrey likes to go. Geoffrey doesn’t have much of a social life. He liked to go to the cabin that Holdren owns and that her kids used to visit. The team called Ruby. They got her to act as their guide and she took them to the family cabin. And they ran into Geoffrey.
They arrested him because they could prove he wrote the letter to Holdren. Geoffrey he did write it and he said he was mad after his boss wrote him out of the will and that he was paid fifty thousand in bitcoin. Geoffrey also had an alibi backed up by photos. He was no longer a suspect. The person who paid him the fifty grand was soon the chief suspect and all they had was a username. It was Jamie2Shoes. They asked the hologram about the nickname and she mentioned she went to college with Jamie. He got the nickname because he was so nervous about running for class president that he put on two different kinds of shoes. She also added that Albert James Beck went on to become an incredible lawyer. Jamie was Holdren’s lawyer. And her oldest friend in the world.
Holdren never stole that money. She only said she did it because her son Ben was taking the fall for what he and Jamie did together and so she confessed to save her son’s life. But he died anyway. Holdren was so hurt by her son’s death that she kept looking into what he did and she would have found out about the role Jamie played. And that’s why he killed her.
The team later broke the news of what really happened to Ruby and she finally realized how much her mother must have loved them. And so after she found out about the truth in both her mother and brother’s deaths, she visited the hologram to talk to her mom.
THE END!
