In tonight’s NCIS episode, a body was found on a cruise ship. The victim was Navy Commander Roger Burrows and his death was suspicious. He was found dead wearing a tux in the sauna. NCIS were called in to investigate when the ship docked in their backyard and the team were quick to notice signs of a fight. Burrows was also stabbed twice in the neck. There were signs of blood on the wall and it was clear someone tried to wipe it up.

Burrows was therefore killed. Someone incapacitated him and then threw him in the sauna. But that’s not why this case interested McGee. This case interested him because the body was found by his mother-in-law and he hadn’t known she was taking a cruise. She hid this from her daughter. McGee’s wife. She later said that Delilah would have worried about her if she mentioned the cruise and that’s why she was trying to hide it until this happened.

McGee spoke with his mother-in-law. Judy said she found the victim by coincidence and at first he believed her. He had no reason not to. McGee called his wife to mention her mother was involved with one of his cases and she asked him to keep an eye on her. He of course agreed. But Judy was lying to him. She claimed she didn’t know the victim and she did. Burrows had stood out on the ship.

He was asking questions about security and he got people to talk to him by telling them he did security for the Navy. He failed to mention he was an active Commander or that he had just gotten off a ship. The team thought it was odd that a man who spent months on a ship would then take a cruise in his downtime, but it was clear from the onset that Burrows was up to something.

Burrows for one had surveillance in his room. He was recording something and Torres thought it was the other guests. He suspected that Burrows a Peeping Tom. They couldn’t prove it one way or another because someone took out the SD card and so they had no idea what Burrows was recording. The only person who could possibly tell them was the person’s whose fingerprints were found all over his room.

It turns out the fingerprints belonged to Judy. She lied about not knowing Burrows and was secretly sleeping with him. They met on the cruise. They hit it off right away and so she spent time in his room. Judy claims not to know anything else. She also didn’t know who was trying to kill her and unfortunately that part was in fact true.

Someone bombed Judy’s condo. Judy wasn’t hurt or anything and she wasn’t even mad about the condo. She said she needed a reason to redecorate. Judy had to be taken into protective custody. They had her stay at McGee’s condo and he sent his twins to go stay with his sister. But Judy and Delilah’s constant bickering had him going insane. Judy wasn’t taking her situation seriously. She wanted to invite people over for book club and she ordered takeout. McGee was just feeling grateful for Parker showing up when there was an incident with the delivery guy. The delivery guy was in fact Judy’s former fiancé and he borrowed the delivery’s jacket and hat because he wanted to get close to Judy.

Harold was his name. Harold wanted Judy back and if he couldn’t get her back then he wanted the bag back. The bag was a gift he bought for Judy. It was quite expensive and he wanted to sell it on eBay. Judy gave back the bag. She emptied it and found a letter for NCIS. It was written in Burrows’s handwriting with words NCIS on it and inside of it there was a Joker’s card. The team didn’t know what it meant but they knew what it was connected to. Burrows had went on the ship because not that long ago his niece died under suspicious circumstances on the same cruise line and he was investigating it. His niece was Allison Howell. Howell worked on the ship and supposedly went overboard a month ago. And there wasn’t an investigation.

There is never really an investigation when people or go overboard or simply go missing. There’s about twenty people that disappear off of cruise ships every year and there’s no investigation. But Howell’s family wanted justice. They were suing and Burrows wanted to give them answers. He went on the cruise to just see if their security was lax. What he found instead was evidence of something worse. The Joker card had everyone suspecting the magician, but he was just selling drugs with Howell and he didn’t kill her or Burrows. He has five hundred witnesses proving he didn’t kill Burrows. The Joker card was clue. It was what was on the card that was clue. There was toxic waste found on the card and no one had any idea what it was doing on the cruise ship for seniors.

The toxic waste couldn’t generally be found on a ship. Its more what companies would generate and couldn’t dump and so someone was using the cruise ship to illegally dump toxic waste into the ocean. Only there was an issue. The CEO of the cruise line had pressured the Coast Guard into releasing the ship and so the team had three hours to solve the case but luckily they had Judy. Judy saw them watching security footage of cargo being loaded and she said that one of the barrels of ginger ale never made it on the ship. It was her favorite brand. She asked the ship if they sold it and they didn’t because they said they didn’t sell brand on the ship and so Judy’s clue broke the case. The illegal toxic waste was being transported in fake ginger ale tanks.

They traced it back to a toxic waste company who spilled on the security officer of the ship. The security officer then turned on the captain and it was Captain Finch who killed both Howell as well as Burrows. The team were able to close their case. They also stopped the dumping of toxic waste.

Judy later got back together with her ex and they were going to Africa for a safari.

THE END!
