SEAL Team Recap 10/24/21: Season 5 Episode 3 “Nine Ten”

Tonight on CBS their new military drama Seal Team airs with an all-new Wednesday, October 24, 2021, episode and we have your Seal Team recap below. On tonight’s Seal Team season 5 episode 3, called “Nine Ten,” as per the CBS synopsis , “As members of Bravo team travel to New York City, they reflect on a day that shaped each of their lives forever.”

Tonight’s Seal Team episode begins with Bravo travelling in plane to New York, Clay tells Jason that this one is messing with him a bit. Jason thinks back to 2001, he is laying on the floor and playing with his daughter Emma. He gets up, kisses his wife and leaves for work.

Back to the present, Clay talks about how his mom dumped him with his grandparents. We get a glimpse into Clay’s past, his father tells him that they are going to have fun fishing. He tells Clay that he is glad that his grandparents brought him there to celebrate his retirement. Clay’s father brings him to a bar, he is drinking beers with his friends and Clay asks him questions about his career.

Lisa is also reminiscing about the past, she is in class gets chosen to give her homework for the last week to the teacher, but looks so unprepared. Lisa is home and her mother is coming home late, her sister goes into the kitchen and is wining that she is hungry, then she knocks over paints on Lisa’s homework she was doing.

Sonny closes his eyes and thinks back to being in his room at campus with his roommate, he tells her that he is not in the band anymore. He says there comes a time in man’s life when he realizes music is not for him. She tells him he can go back to the ranch, Emmett would love to have him.

Ray thinks back to when he was in a police station and his father tells him to get on his feet after he failed a breathalyzer test and was brought in. They get home and his father is very upset with him, he tells him that he is better than this and wants to know what he is in to that he has to pull a favor to get him out of it. Ray says he has heard this tired old speech a thousand times.

His father says if he stays on this path he will be alone, this is the last time he is helping him. Ray tells him thank you. Later at dinner, Ray’s mother tells him that he used to have plans and focus. She says that wrestling was a means to college for him. She tells him that they are both worried about him and what his father is saying is not wrong.

Ms. Gladys stops by Lisa’s home to make sure everything is ok because their mom is not there. She sees Lisa’ project and she says it is the first F she is going to get. It is her visual aid of pearl harbour and it got destroyed. Ms. Gladys says she was there, her husband was stationed there and it was the worst day of her life. She got her pilot’s licence and flew for the military, it was a different time. She says women didn’t get the same credit that men got back then for flying and she gives her some advice, don’t let anyone tell her that she is worth less than what she is. Lisa smiles and says yes, then asks her to tell her more about her war stories.

Sonny is with his room mate, she is trying on outfits and asks his opinion. He says he doesn’t know. He says she wants to impress some girls. He asks her why she is kissing up to a bunch of pageant queens. She says she is trying to fit in, and he can’t blame her. He tells her that he doesn’t know who she is anymore and she replies that the problem is that he doesn’t know who he is.

Clay’s dad teaches him how to play pool, his father says he is thinking of writing a book about being a Seal. Clay give pool another try, he is getting better with his father’s help. Clay asks if he can stay longer than a week, like maybe he can live with him. His father says he would like that a lot.

Jason is home, he is checking out real estate in the paper. He tells his wife that it is up to them to give their daughter the best life possible. She goes to get her video camera and shows him a video of their daughter crawling when he was at work. Jason tells Ilana that he is upset that he missed Emma’s crawling and all that to see if he knows how to grab a pair of bolt cutters when asked, it’s getting harder for him to choose to put his family second all the time. He tells her that he wants another kid. He wants to find a job where he can make an impact. He says he has two months paid leave, they can find that house and get started on another kid.

Ray is playing video games when he is father is setting out to leave for work and he says that his father used to beat him, Ray asks if that is a threat. He asks Ray if he hates him, he says no. His father says he feels like he failed, but he is glad it was the precinct and not the morgue. He is done being angry, he is disappointed in Ray and in himself.

Lisa is back in class, she gets up and puts on a jacket from 1942, and says over a thousand women flew until 1945 and her project is about women flying in the military.

All of what happened in the past, was on September 10th, 2010, the day before 9/11. Lisa is interrupted in class when her teacher gets the news, Clay’s father tells him he has to go to Washington and be on the news as a military expert, Clay asks if they are at war, his father says not yet and his grandparents are on the way to get him, their plans are on hold for now. Sonny is asleep, someone knocks on the door and shouts that they are under attack. He turns on the TV and hears the president give the news about 9/11. Jason is sitting with his wife and child, he is also watching and is in disbelief. He tells Alana that the agency must be all over this. Ray is seen running through the rubble, he tries to get past a cop and says his dad is a firefighter and he is there, he has to find him.

Present day, Ray is standing outside the memorial for 9/11 and his dad’s name is written there. Lisa, Sonny and Clay are there as well, Lisa says she can’t believe it has been twenty years. Clay says that day changed everything for him, Sonny says two days later he waked into a recruiting office. Jason joins Ray and says his dad would be proud of him, he is where he is supposed to be.
